Re: Tomahawk recomendations

Older post, but the Estwing hawk is awesome for a solid hawk that is available to an enlisted guy's pay. 40 bucks at your local Home Depot.

Re: Value of military training?

Tapatalk isn't really showing me when this thread was updated, but here is my look. Your shooting skills aren't really the main value you will get from the Army. In the Army, you will get- 1. Weapon failure drills- Using blanks more than live ammo, you should be a champ at fixing any stoppage you ma...

Tried to read the book. It's one of the few books ever I have started and do not intend to finish.

The fact that the above picture exists is a bit creepy. Dolls freak me out.

I'm looking for a bag for the wife's AR pistol. The HSGI bags look nice.

AAC Honey Badger. Just a cool gun. I love the MP5esque stock.

Re: Firearms Chat Part 2: Bullpups cause all the rage!

Got a wicked good deal today from a guy in one of my local groups on an AR pistol with a brace and a SIGTac scope. I'm not sure about the scope, it's a 3x and it does red/green which always makes me leery. I am going to have to put some irons on it. Does anyone have any experience with the SIGTac sc...

Sorry I'm late to this. Just found out ZS is back on tapatalk. For high end AR gear, look at Snap Shots, or if you can make the drive, Gear Zone Tactical down in Freeman.

Re: heaviest blade YOU would carry on the trail/backpacking

I carry my Junglas and Izula at the very least. Sometimes I may add my Laser Strike, but more often than not I do most of my work with the Junglas.

Re: Anybody EDC fixed blades?

I carry a KABAR TDI just to the left of my belt buckle and sometimes an Izula II around my neck. The TDI is just enough to help me protect my weapon, and the Izula II is a great GP knife.

Re: Ultimate ZS Battle/Scout Belt Thread

Found out this weekend doing some training that I really need a new dump pouch. My Maxpedition one dropped mags all day, anytime I moved any faster than "mosey."

Any good ideas?

Re: Gear that made you stop looking

My ESEE Laser Strike is the perfect full size knife for me. I've had almost all of the ESEE line, a Gerber LMFII, Mora, Swamp Rat RMD... none of them are what I end up taking to the field, other than my Junglas.

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms rela

Just emptied my PayPal account on a Galco OWB holster for my M9, and a FoxX Leather IWB double mag carrier for my Glock. Also bought a Don Hume leather gun belt yesterday at the local shop... Makes a huge damn difference in how my gun carries. I was looking to replace my Crossbreed, but now I'm in l...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

I'm getting ready to place an order for some AR mag holders to put on the battle belt. For those of you that use them do you prefer the short or tall? Why? Thanks! Short. Gives you more magazine to grab, which is really nice when you are trying to do a quick reload. Its the same problem/different s...

Wine was the first mistake.

To keep it OT... My new gig makes mandatory the SW M&P 40. I don't like 40. And trying to come from the Glock, I'm not a M&P fan

Re: Choose your gun; variations on a theme.

M4. Even up close I shoot it better than a pistol, and it gives me the capability to shoot much further than a pistol, which may be useful for hunting, or if living bad guys become a problem as well as Z's.

Chrysanthemum. Or simply mum if you happen to be someone that cares enough to join old surplus rifle forums.

And I've got no idea. Sorry. I would love to see pictures.

Re: Sleeping Bag Coat

I've got the top and bottom of the ECWS "snow suit." It quite literally seems to be made of exactly the same material the cold weather bag of the MSS is made of. I'm pretty sure I could put that stuff on and be good to go well into the 30s with good shelter.

ESEE Candiru, or original Izula. Keep the scales off, and you have an extremely thin package.

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

I would just go with something else then. The SERPA is that trigger well retention button. Otherwise it would just be any other cheap injection molded (plastic poly fiber stuff) holster. If you don't want that trigger retention, I would go kydex. Unless there is something I'm missing. Sent from my i...

Those DEI frames are way cheaper than I would have expected. One could probably slap together a pretty decent and cheap ruck with those and a trip to a surplus store.
