Re: 12 Gauge Pump vs Lever Action for HD & SHTF

Given, that you can change the barrel on the pump shotgun and put a rifled barrel on it. Then with saboted slugs, you can be as accurate as a lever action.

Re: Purpose of the Semi Auto 308 Battle Rifle

It's a love hate relationship with my HK-91. I bought it a long time ago as a re-enlistment gift to myself, paid $450.00 for it brand new. I'm now looking at getting or building a 6.5 Grendel upper for my AR. I just like its ballistics. I already reload and have dies so that isn't a problem. I also ...

Re: Stacking deep or diverisfying calibers...lessons learned

What stacking deep means to me is this. 5000 rounds for each of my main defense/offense rifles. At least 30,000 rounds of .22lr. You can never have too much rimfire ammo. 2500 rounds for my main sidearm. At least 1000 rounds for each of my ancillary firearms

Re: Loadout ammunition amounts

Let's be real here, If you are carrying all that weight (survival gear and guns and ammo)on your back, you are in for a world of hurt. Buy or build yourself a cart with large diameter tires to carry a lot of your gear. If it is a SHTF scenario, I want to be in my tactical vest with my survival kit a...

Re: Shernic SKS Bullpup conversion

The Shernic is a great fit for the SKS. I would also troll YouTube as there are videos on there that show you how to improve the trigger on your SKS. It is amazing how much nicer the Shernic is with the trigger pull smoothed out. They also show how to convert to AK mags as well.

Re: Classic Post: M1 carbine

I love the M-1 Carbine, I have 5 of them 2 are standard GI (Rockola), 1 is a folding stock paratrooper model, 1 is a 256 win mag Ferret model and the last one is a receiver that I barreled to 9mm Magnum to go with my AMT Auto Mag III. The 9mm Mag uses the same unmodified mags (just holds fewer round...

Re: Finding reloading components...

If you have split necks on 5.56 brass, don't trash them. They can be trimmed down for .300BLK or .22TCM, or .300 whisper. If it is totally crushed save it in a recycle bin. You can get some good change for brass now a days. Hell even my .41 mag, when the necks split, I trim them down to .44 special ...

Re: Limiting your Cache to Three Calibers...

Since we are talking cache guns, I will go with these 3 guns. 1: .308 caliber Mossberg MVP. It is dependable, good trigger and takes Magpul mags. It is also reasonably priced. I would mount a 2-7, 2-8 or 2-10 variable on it. 2: .357 handgun, The Taurus Total Titanium Tracker with 4 inch barrel is my...

Re: Lack of lead.

Ok, so some people are stressing. So i'll give you my trick for acquiring lead. !: if you live in the country, there is probably a sand pit or someplace like it where people go to shoot. Get out there with a shovel and sifter and dig out those old bullets. You get lead and copper(the jackets). 2: if...

Re: Red Jacket vs High Tower Armory Bullpup Stock (.22)

Haven't had it out to the range yet but here are my impressions. 1: the surface should have been textured for a better grip feel. 2: the surface should be harder, it is prone to marring ( 1 would probably hide 2 better) 3: the trigger bar was nicked and scratched and I don't mean tooling marks. More...

Last I saw, they have shipped #857 due to arrive on tuesday. and it looks like they only ship on tues. and thurs. which is absurd. they should be shipping 50 to 100 units per day out.

Kifaru sells their "Dock & Lock" webbing clips so you could use those to attach any pack or pouch with webbing or straps to your pack.

Re: Red Jacket vs High Tower Armory Bullpup Stock (.22)

saw that 802 shipped on the 29th. 762 shipped on the 24th so if my math is correct, they've shipped 40 pieces in 6 days. that is a whole not quite 7 stocks per day... under whelming!
today is the 4th, end of day, and no further shipping confirmations since the 29th. this does not bode well.

Re: Red Jacket vs High Tower Armory Bullpup Stock (.22)

Latest thing I saw was order 781 was shipped on the 28th. Prior to that 762 was shipped on the 24th. So if my math is correct, they are shipping a record 19 stocks every 4 days. That is less than 5 stocks per day. I am unimpressed!

Re: 6.8 vs .300 BLK

I'd rather have a 6.5 Grendel and the 7.62x40 WT. Both are much better rounds. Neither fits the niche of .300BO, which is a suppressable .30 caliber that uses standard AR BCG, mags, buffer systems, and burns all the powder in the first 8-10" of barrel. And has mainstream support. Any caliber is sup...

Re: Bugging out in a group... stove dilemma

Here is the reality check, Do you truly know how long you will be out during your bug-out? Not what you planned for but after Murphy gets ahold of you and your best laid plans. The answer is generally ...No. That is why I don't carry a stove that I also need to carry fuel for. That is also why I hav...
