Re: -:[Winter MBO Entry]:-

Most people pack way, way too much, especially for short trips. With the exclusion of the 10 essentials, my shelter and food, anything that I haven't used in the last three outings (I hike and camp a lot) then I toss it out of my pack. Granted, I have dedicated winter, summer, and spring/fall loadou...

Re: What have you bought lately? (Bug Out Version)

Finally got myself a Kukri from Badger Blades. Pretty much the ultimate all around PAW tool. Works like a knife, hatchet, and machete all in one. Light and much more compact than the later two as well.

Re: New Job: Living on the road

I live on the road 10.5 months out of the year, you could say I live in a constant state of bug-out. My advice is this: less is more. You really need far less to get along on than you realize. Although I have all my bases covered as far as preps go, I still have far less than people realize. Firstly...

Re: Police say Detroit too dangerous to enter.

That would be true if *every* murder/rape/robbery/carjacking, etc., was actually reported so it could become a part of the statistics I've personally witnessed more knifings, beatings, and shootings than I care to think about that weren't reported. Hell, the first time I got shot I not only didn't r...

Re: Pulling the Trigger: have you ever bugged out?

I currently live in a permanent state of bug-out. I travel full time, don't keep a residence, and have access only to what I carry with me, so preps are practical and light. Essentially, I bug out from a safe house to a wild location and live there for a month or two at a time. Sometimes I have larg...

Re: Good starter rifle?

A big +1 on the bolt .22lr. If you've never shot a rifle before a .30-06 is not exactly what you want to learn on. It'll beat the crap out of you on the range. A good .22lr will give you a cheap, reliable platform to learn the fundamentals and build solid technique on until you step up to a full pow...

Re: Good starter rifle?

You really cannot go wrong with a Remington 700. The aftermarket for it is amazing and they are very accurate guns. Get the 700, not the 70 or 710, they are the cheapo versions of the 700. As for calibers, +1 on the .308. It's the most widely available round you'll find and capable of taking all but...

Madwolf, any plans for a cut and thrust sidesword or a backsword type design? Sent from my HTC VLE_U using Tapatalk 2 Nothing that wide, but, for the first time in a very, very long time we're doing rapiers and main gauche sets. The first eight showed up in October and immediately sold out. We have...

If you can get to one of our shows we can work something out. I pass through Jeriah's AO quite a bit, so that's easy, I don't come anywhere near yours though :(

While in Louisiana for November and December working the faire just about everyone on site got it. The other just gave you a low grade sickness that persisted for quite...

Re: Police say Detroit too dangerous to enter.

To put in my two cents, they should consider trying to move the population to one specific region of the city to increase the population density and reduce the AO of the police. This should reduce the time taken for police to respond to crimes and might stimulate local business by attracting more p...

People who should be in an institution walking the streets because we gutted mental health care in this county, and "gun free...
