Re: Working Russian Olympics - Survivng A Sarin Attack

Sarin (GB) is namely an inhalation hazard. It is employed as a liquid which quickly vaporizes into an colorless/odorless gas. In the event of an incident, clothing can provide limited protection from vapors absorbing into the skin, however, the vapors can off-gas from clothing for a long period of t...

Re: Chest Seal Preference?

I like HALOs, we carry the XLs in our bags. I like the option of being able to use them as a chest seal, but they are also big enough to hold a dressing in place, and so on.

just FYI Atropine without 2-pam chloride will do very little for you if you are exposed to an agent.

Re: Tactical EMS (TEMS) Equipment

interesting article...not really sure where he sourced some of the info from though. I disagree pretty much entirely with his packing lists. For example, you do not need a stethoscope in your vest with you, which would be considered your "first line" gear, you are not going to be taking a BP in the ...

iDevice Diagnostics

Hey guys. While I was abroad on my last assignment, I noticed that I had a metric ton of diagnostic tools that took up a bunch of room in my primary bag. I started thinking about alternatives, like a multitool, the more devices in one, the better, then I looked at my iPhone, and thought about how I ...

Been doing this for a few years, but I just condense one at a time, instead of putting 3-in-1

I generally am given first strike rations now, which are a whole different beast all together.

ID this bag?

Hey guys, I am not intentionally bashing LAPG..but, I kinda am.. I notice generally the companies like LAPG, Galls, Condor, ext, usually copy other pack and bag designs. http://www.lapolicegear.com/lapg-operator-backpack.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Is this a copy of another b...

Re: Vac sealing medical materials

I think sterility is great and all..but when dealing with any invasive injuries or procedures in the field, it is really non-essential. Clean is. to take sterile gauze right from the package and vacuum seal it would really be a non-issue IMO. The issue I keep running into is sourcing GOOD bags to us...

Re: I have the new pack bug...

I was looking int a Little Brother before buying the Halftrack. Luckily the seller didn't BS me, and said that the Little Brother would be too small for what I was looking for. After getting the Halftrack, I realized he was exactly right. If you are looking for something bigger than the Rush 24, an...

Re: I have the new pack bug...

regarding the halftrack... I like it, A LOT... however, there is motive behind reason with the little brother...I was strongly considering buying it first, then buying the rest of the Skycrane II or warhammer system to integrate it into at a later date, and I do still need to carry the pack in a mor...

Some great info above. Thanks a lot! I will admit that the RUSH packs do not have the greatest suspension system, but damn are they laid out well... every day when I throw my 24 around or it is sitting somewhere and I look at it I think damn that bag has been through hell and back, almost no visible...

Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx and alternatives?

Based on my needs, I have been directed by a few people to a Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx.

What are your thoughts on it?

What are comparable alternatives? 62SC?

Thanks!

Re: I have the new pack bug...

Thanks Jeff. Thank you for the insight. I have ALWAYS been steered towards Kifaru packs, as far back as 2003 in Iraq, most of my guys we wearing them. Our company (who is still around, with a different name) was issuing them to a bunch of teams. I just do not like the "flat" design of them, in that,...

I have the new pack bug...

I have been faithfully using a 1st gen. 5.11 RUSH 24 as my primary everything pack for 5 years now (I think, or whenever it FIRST came out). I has served me well, and actually still does. BUT I am starting to look at other options... I use it as an everything bag. I am noticing it can be a little sm...
