3 Magpul BAD levers, two for my AR-15s and one pink one for my GF's new pink-accented AR I'm building her as an anniversary present.

Re: Tractors for lite homesteading/utility?

I've heard good things about Mahindra tractors. Maybe their market is still impoverished farmers instead of ag mega-corporations? Maybe their tractors are for more primitive use? It sounds weird to suggest that the loss of both user-serviceability as well as the skills to repair your own farm equip...

Re: Tractors for lite homesteading/utility?

The difference is a set of black box more blessed by the paperwork and bureaucracy "gods" that render the whole unit Inoperable unless they are hacked and rooted or you get the exact engine. BTW these engines do not have replaceable cylinder liners like the old DD-71 series so rebuilding is not eco...

Re: Tractors for lite homesteading/utility?

A timely post. I am looking at a similar issue due to some changes I have recently made. I have to replace the riding lawn mower and I want more utility. I have a been looking at Kubota Zero Turn mowers and their sub compact tractors. The area in which it will be employed has very soft areas and wi...

Re: "Daily COVID-19 SITREP In Your Area"

Any veterans hesitant to stand in a long line at the Dallas VA, and likely any other VA in North Texas, can come get their shot now. For at least the last week the line has dwindled to only a handful of people at any given time, and the VA's restrictions have been lifted as follows: As of two days a...

An NFT is difficult for some to grasp but to put it simply if you look at an artist like Picasso.
Not difficult to grasp at all! In fact, I am able to recognize that virtually all of the words in this thread are written in English.

Re: Protests and Street Violence 2021

I'm completely baffled. Can a lawyer explain how someone can be guilty of killing one person three different ways with differing levels of severity? Did someone report it wrong? No it was not reported wrong. Not a lawyer but these are state charges so they may allow stacking of charges or the charg...

Re: Hidden. Dark and deep in the vaults, not to be used. Unless at the uttermost end of need.

For real, tho. I've been giving this some thought. Any scenario where I would need, say, more than about 10 rounds from one AR-15 magazine, just sucks at like unimaginable levels. Hogs, angry mountain lion, paranoid bear, horny moose....all way out of left field nonexistent scenarios, and I'd say......

Re: COVID-19 Chat Thread

Hard to say, man. You'd need to know the numbers of vaccinated, which that article says it's going to provide, but didn't, at least not in a scientifically appropriate way of making the largest second piece of information you need REALLY easy to find. We saw early on, the horrific deaths of otherwis...

Re: Hidden. Dark and deep in the vaults, not to be used. Unless at the uttermost end of need.

The sheer volume of unopened, unused, standard-capacity AR mags I own would definitely qualify for me. Not the ARs. Those are cool. As well as some builds I've gifted to people. Those are cool....just good home defense weapons. But if I ever needed to open and start distributing and using the large ...

Re: What if yesterday was a normal day. Next day your whole life is world of zombies.

LOL I don't worry about Zombies. I was riding my bike (7/30) and was struck by a truck. Knocked me on my ass, tore up a bunch of body pieces/parts and totaled the bike. I worry about real life situations that come out of left field - and how to handle those. The End of the World as you Know it Toda...

Re: Firearms Chat: [2021 - Aw, FFS! BOHICA]

What bugs me is I'm spending $240 to change sights on a $299 pistol. You have gotten spoiled. I remember spending the purchase price of the pistol on after market tuning and "correct" parts to get the reliability that you get right out of the factory box these days. Can you say (1977 vintage) Colt ...

Re: Vaccinate: Yes or No?

Some people are gonna have severe vaccine reactions. Some people are gonna not respond to the vaccine and get COVID anyway. Some people who got the vaccine will go on to get COVID and die from it in spite of getting the vaccine. Some people will get the vaccine and die within 2-3 days of something c...

Re: Traumatic amputation.

This is outside my scope, but after quickly DuckDucking some keywords, the answer is "probably". The articles I found about replantation of digits lean heavily on anti-coagulation in any small-part replantation. So, extrapolating....the better thing to do would be to bandage it adequately and if it'...

Well good God this certainly is a delightfully intelligent and affable discussion about the COVID vaccine. Helluva lot better than social media. That's why still love message boards. Zombie Squad isn't trying to sell me a hoodie that says FUCK THAT VACCINE three times a day. Anyway, I estimate I'll ...

Re: Vaccinate: Yes or No?

I am in no hurry for the vaccine. I do have reservations on which vaccine I will take for reasons of ethics. I will in my own good time get one. I have a strong immune system and there are many more people in need of the vaccine who need to go to the front of the line. I was offered a vaccine very ...

Re: A different kind of preparedness: scientific literacy

This is a great post, because I think a huge problem that is at very least equal to science deniers, is those that have blind faith in what people in positions of authority tell them is "The Science". It's becoming as useful a tool for political manipulation as religion is or ever was. I see T-shirt...

Texas has dropped mask mandates and re-opened 100% Controversial, for sure. Re: The Stand (2020)

Finally found the 9th episode, and it was basically superfluous. Actually, all it did was totally cement that Alex Skarsgard's Randall Flagg was way weaker, more insecure, more impulsive, desperate, and less controlled than the original. Like if the original Randall Flagg was someone insidious like ...

Re: The Stand (2020)

My GF and I have been waiting on the 9th and final episode that was supposed to drop February 11th. Searching online, it looks like it was supposed to be a freshly written epilogue and update. I guess the show sucked so much they just gave up and didn't release it. Seriously this was worse than just...

Re: "Daily COVID-19 SITREP In Your Area"

How many plan to get it when offered? I have no issues and wife and I will get it when it comes around. IF not why? I have been offered the vaccine twice and declined each time by substituting others more in genuine need of it(due to impaired immune systems) than me. I do not want to cut the line e...
