Re: S&W 45 series general disposition

There's the cheaper 457 if you can find one - about the same size as the 39xx series in a single stack. S&W still makes mags for them but they're pricy. I'd show preference for an LEO trade in if possible, they were made without the mag disconnect and typically have old nightsights you can have relo...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

I wanna get a 26...I have no need for a 26 becuase my 19 will be my primary carry gun...but i still want one... So far my 26 has been the most reliable gun I've ever owned. Not talkin' it up but I've had malfs with my 20, 29, 19 and my 17. Never with the 26. Not loads of problems but a misfeed ever...

Freedom Munitions GTG? Need to drop some coin on ammo and they've got 9 in amounts I'm interested in.

Otherwise I could go GA with their canned heat.

Gah.... I held a Sig 938 and a Kimber Solo tonight in the funshop. That Kimber. That. Kimber..... Trigger dry firing was a step over meh, but nothing to jump up and down about. Rick, thanks for that info. It helped a lot. This will help me to know what I'm looking at should I pick one up at the gun show next week. The continued lack of 22LR/9mm in my AO has me :vmad: . Trivial, I know, as I've amassed a reasonable amount via the web and the good folks here that have constantly refocused my attention to other sources. Still a PITA when squirrel season is on us and I can't grab a brick on the way home. I think...

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

I wonder what a 34 cut down to take 26 mags would look like. Hmm. Re-dic-a-lous. There's a pic out there of a cut down Gen2 G17 to a 26 and honestly would not want. I don't mind the look of chopping down a size, but when you go two sizes it gets a little odd... Now a G34 to a G19 grip and you're ge...

Re: Role Playing- what type of gun would you choose?

Urban area, it'd be the Beretta handgun. More than enough for that range, can reload fast and get bullets on target fast for multiple aggressors in close. I won't be kicking in doors or looking for a bad day, but the ammo amount and fast reload would make it easier to escape. Suburban area and all e...

Re: First Pistol Purchase

Rather than buying a .22 pistol simply for the sake of practicing, I find myself interested in the conversion kits that northernexposure mentioned... Are those common to all the models on my list or just the models he listed (CZ75/G19)? How quick can the conversion be made - a few minutes or is it ...

Re: First Pistol Purchase

As an aside, both the CZ75 and the G19 offer a 22LR conversion kit so that you can practice inexpensively and still have a centerfire pistol when you want. Also gives you the benefit of training on the same gun you will be shooting centerfire out of - same trigger, same grip, same manual of arms as ...

Looks great! One thing I'd add to your fishing kit (didn't see it mentioned) would be a good strong set of angled side cutters (dikes). As someone who recently had to push a treble through their hand and then cut off the barb to get the mess out, I was very happy to have them in the bag. Sounds wors...

Clean - Gunscrubber
Lube - Oil is CLP, Grease is whatever tube of grease that's left over from the CT PM, in this case Shell Aero7.

Re: Firearms Chat: Stipple that, home edition

I think CAN restricts the 50Beo mags to 5rds, which is like 15 rounds of 5.56, so it's more a legal reindeer game thing for those in the far north.

YMMV.

Defective list. Dump one of the 9-minimeters. Then dump all of the .40S&Ws. Get a G20 or G29 in 10mm - more accurate than the .40; more powerful than both the minimeter and the .40.
