Re: this new subdivision sucks,

This is just my opinion, but the sub-division will drive members toward other sites. I know this is NOT DavePal's intention, but I could see where other "less gun friendly" people would be happy about this. I don't really understand why you think the categories are "less gun friendly". No need to e...

Thanks for showing me the door Kyle. Clearly constructive criticism is unwelcome here. I think it's time for me to accept your invitation to leave.

Re: New ZS Direction?

My only comment is that I don't see in any way how "immoral comments" and profanity can constitute a religion. Morality is perfectly relative and can be defined quite easily without religion in any respect. In the same vein, profanity is a common part of speech. For better or worse, it's not violat...

Re: New ZS Direction?

Cited examples.... This was the response to a post in which I used the term "people". Several members pointed out it wasn't an "approved ZS term" because it turned people off and/or dehumanized them. To this I replied that I did not care for their use of the word "fuck" for the same reasons. Here is...

New ZS Direction?

I use to be a fairly prolific contributor to ZS. My posts where informative and thorough. However, I've been very unmotivated for the past few months due to a changing atmosphere. I've noted the following changes (which will be followed up by a question): 1) We had Arbeiters introduced. 2) It seems ...

Re: this new subdivision sucks,

I just noticed the new Firearms Sub-Division, and do not care for it at all. I think it will discourage firearms discussions by making it difficult to decide WHERE to initiate a conversation. Additionally, to offer counter point to the above comment that some people don't know where to start - then ...

Arch; I've got no disagreement with you except for your use of the word people It's not a nice word... I understand that you are pretty pissed about the way things are going... And you aren't alone, but on the forums it's frowned upon. I'm not setting you straight, just letting you know to ease up ...

Re: Detained

My experience with LEO's has changed dramatically over the years. As a 16 year old kid I believed the "protect and serve" line, and had mostly great interactions with the Police. Case in point #1 In 1991, at 17 years old, I was driving my girlfriend home (lived out in the country) when I was pulled ...

Re: What Did You Do Today To Prepare?

Oh I also kinda realized something. When I was buying pasta in bulk, sale at walmart, some pastas just need water and some need milk to taste right. Guess I should try and keep with the water based ones more than milk. Seems less complicated than having to measure out dry milk to pasta dishes? righ...

Jax, Nice collection, and good pics. I need to pull out my entire collection some time. My problem is - A LOT of my knives are squirreled away in various survival kits or at work, etc. I could pretty easily pull out 10-15 of my fixed blades though. :?: cool. You dont have to pull them if you can ju...

Re: The ZS collaborative Fixed Blade Recommendation Thread

Molon, the texture of the finish is very rough from the factory (not "rough" like a sandy grit, but more of a "crinkly texture"). However, the finish "smooths" very quickly with minimal use. I've not noticed any performance issues arising out of the textured finish on my Bussekin knives. I do have o...

I know there are a couple of ZS members that own Scrap Yard "Mil Regulators" so I thought I'd post a couple of pics and comments about mine... 7.5" x .333" thick SR-101 (modified 52100 ball bearing steel) I bought my Mil Reg during the original release and have beat the crap out of it since.... I've been EDC'g a Spyderco Delica4 (clipped in my off-hand pocket) and a Swamp Rat RMD, but picked this up to replace the Delica4... http://i55.tinypic.com/vxjghe.jpg It is a Swamp Rat "Rodent Solution" made out of "SR101" steel which is modified 52100 (ball bearing steel). Re: The Nighthawk in collaboration with TOPS

I had over a dozen Buck Nighthawks, but sold all of them after I decided to upgrade my cutting tools. That 420HC is utter rubbish, and should be avoided. There was a time - not that long ago - when I thought a Buck made knife was top shelf, but then I started studying knives and testing them more th...

Yea, my deal is that I don't own most any thing yet. I want something, so I can use it and get opinions/lessons from it. Yeah, I was referring more to the "I have this, will it work?" type questions; my answer is, "Bring it and find out." But if you're totally lacking in a piece of gear that you ne...

OP, if you're looking for an indestructible hawk (with a lifetime warranty in case you some how figure out how to damage the thing) look for a Swamp Rat "Crash Rat"....
