Re: OFFGRID Magazine

I was just at B&N looking for the new Toyota 4X4 mag and came across it. Gave it a quick look through and it seemed pretty good. Basic but they say that in the beginning. Wanted to look it up online first to see what their all about. I'll probably give it a shot.

Re: World War Z movie - Brad Pitt and Paramount! W000T!

There's no doubt Im gonna see it. Im not happy they are 28 day later zombies either but I knew Hollywood wouldn't stick to the book from the first time I heard a movie would be made. I always thought if they were going to stick to the book it would have been better as a TV mini series.

Re: Doomsday Bunkers 3part series

My wife made a great point last night watching the show. The woman that lives near Indian Point spent $150K on the shelter alone, and whatever for the land and permits. Why couldnt she just take that money and move away from Indian Point. Also I was screaming at the defensive driving class part. She...

Re: Show and Tell thread, Handgun edition

Just picked up my first pistol this morning (sad, I know), Beretta 92A1. I love it. I've heard a bunch of complaints about the gun, mainly that it's too big in the hand and the trigger pull is too heavy. Both complaints completely unwarranted IMO, since I have small, girly hands and it fits me just...

Are Scanners Still Relevant

Here's a question for the communication guys. I've always liked the idea of having a scanner in my vehicle (yeah I know its not totally legal in some states) for keeping up on traffic issues due to storms, or any road closings due to fallen trees, ect. Back before stuff was going with 'trucked' or d...

CTD was running a special on 4 5gallon gas cans. By the time I got online to order they were sold out BUT OF course even if they did have them in stock they cant send them to the piece of $h!t state I live in. I really need to move to Texas.

Re: How far would you go for a loved one?

When it comes to my wife, I dont have a limit. I'd do whatever it took to get to where she was in any kind of disaster situation. And I know some of you wont get this but, we dont have kids (not by choice) so my dogs are my kids. Id run into a burning building for them. And if we ever had to bug out...

Re: Wood Saw Suggestions?

You can't go wrong with a Sven. I've had the same one of well over 15 years and it's still works great. The blades last a long time and don't cost that much. Plus it's light and breaks down pretty small.
