Re: Looking for a small chest rig

I don't think I've seen anything that screamed "GUN" more than a guy with a rifle and a chest rig with AR mags in it. I don't think inconspicious was a criteria for the OP. Maybe not the Recon, I mean hell they named it The Recon, but the other ones look like they fit what ever context the wearer i...

Re: Steel ballistic plate and carrier

What thickness were the plates? 1/4 inch So, the testimony of some guy on the internet trumps the industry standard. Got it. I give up. Industry standard? I own and have shot the EXACT plates he was referencing. Do you have any idea what were even talking about here? And as far as "guy on the Inter...

Re: Steel ballistic plate and carrier

I just had to chime in and say that, If you are using AR500 steel armor plates, Zombiegristle is 100% correct. I bought a few sets of curved plates from TTM (best price out there) I took one to the range, placed it in a cardboard box (we brought a few) and shot it with 223. xm193, m885, surplus 308,...

Re: Food Storage Porn: Hot or Not. Show us pics!

Were running out of storage space and I've always wanted to make a bed frame tall enough to store stuff under.....then I figured I could do it without building anything. box spring and sheet thing goes on top of the buckets. Sheet thing hides buckets and makes everything look nice. Also added kitche...

This also happened to a co-worker of mine. He convinced the guy to call him and it turned out the guy was from Africa. The co-w...

Grey man=Dont look out of place

Everyone around notices you, being grey just means they dismiss you.

Even if you do look out of place, look like you have a purpose to be there.

Dont look like a victim, sholders back with confidence. Grey does no good if scum target you for looking weak.

Re: Will the armor plate rated for...

I'd rather have heavy steel plates now than not have something I couldnt afford, you can always get stronger. You have to balance cost with usability, whats the chance the US will fall apart and I'll have to wear around full battle rattle and worry about rifle threats. 12x12 steel plates with spall ...

As long as you do a good prep of your surface It will hold up fairly well aside from your high wear areas like the grip, magwell, and forend. Aslo the paint will discolor on the barrel if your putting a lot of rounds through it.

Drew my gun for the fist time.....on a dog

This story is pretty much why I NEVER EVER leave my gun at home. Because at the exact moment when you say "I'm just going to go do (whatever), Ill be ok without it just this once" is the exact time when you'll need it. Ever since the days got longer me and the family have been taking full advantage....

I know of gas that was siphoned out of a Kaiser ambulance that was probably 10 years old and put into a mercury montclair. While the fuel being burnt stunk and the car sputtered a lot it ran around for quite a while.
