Re: Mule Tape. 3/4" webbing rated to 2500#.
Hello Electric and cable companies use Mule tape to pull heavy cables up and it place. Dave Canterbury uses Mule tape as suspension lines for a hammock. I also use Mule tape as Suspension lines on my hammock. I use a Slippery hitch knot or Becket knot to tie in to the hammock. https://www.youtube.co...

Re: BOB Advice
Hello
Sounds like a good start. I think you might need a bigger pack though, perhaps a 3000 cu. I use the USMC Assault pack as my GO-bag/Get-Home bag and it's comfortable for 24-30 hours. I think pushing out to 3 is past its capabilities, and will be too unwieldy to carry.

Hey!
BTW, thanks for posting your kit. It has gotten me off my butt, renewed my sub to backpackinglight.com and is making me long and hard as to all the fluff my packs have aquired.

That was my next question: What kind of suspension did you use? I normally use a hammock in the summer to get off the hot ground in AZ. I'm a ground crawler the rest of the year.

Hello
Awesome kit! I'm looking forward to your posts on how it works out. I'm wondering what area/state you are in and the conditions. I'm also interested in what inside your repair kit, your first aid kit, what stove you use and fuel?

I now understand why they "detained" you. I have a question for the police officers. During the pat-down for weapons, what happens if they find a plastic handcuff key on you?

Re: My BOB, stopped by the police.
The Supreme court says it's legal for police to lie to gain confession or evidence! We have rights against illegal seizure, search and harassment. The police have a dangerous job when pulling people over. We (the civilians) have responsibilities when talking to police, but know your rights! EVERYONE...
