Hello Electric and cable companies use Mule tape to pull heavy cables up and it place. Dave Canterbury uses Mule tape as suspension lines for a hammock. Sounds like a good start. I think you might need a bigger pack though, perhaps a 3000 cu. I use the USMC Assault pack as my GO-bag/Get-Home bag and it's comfortable for 24-30 hours. I think pushing out to 3 is past its capabilities, and will be too unwieldy to carry.

That was my next question: What kind of suspension did you use? I normally use a hammock in the summer to get off the hot ground in AZ. I'm a ground crawler the rest of the year.
