Re: Finding reloading components...

Palmetto State Armory had a great pre-black Friday deal on "uncleaned brass" last week. . . . . As you see in the .223/5.56, there are several cases that have slightly crushed necks. I'm going to see if I can get them resized, but I'm not expecting much. Slightly crushed necks are no problem. They ...

Re: Finding reloading components...

Palmetto State Armory had a great pre-black Friday deal on "uncleaned brass" last week. I picked up 1 .30 cal can of 9mm(approx 1700 cases) & 1 .30 cal can of .223/5.56(approx 700 cases). $50 each. They arrived yesterday or this morning..not sure, but I started cleaning the 9mm a few hours ago and I...

Passed the General exam

This past weekend I passed both the Tech & General. Now to wait patiently for the next few days. Now the hard part is deciding on a hf rig. I already have a UV-5R+, extra battery programming cable, slim jim, a diamond, and nagoya antenna for it so I'm set there. I still have a lot of learning ahead ...

the 3R only charges with the USB cable, not sold seperetly that I could find. (just bought a second to be able to charge first) programing cable also different. +1 for chirps regardless which one you go with. have used it for my 5R's, 3R's, and Icom 2200. just wondering how you came across 2 way el...

Re: Keeping communications powered in the field...

I have another antenna recommendation. N9TAX Slim Jim for 2m/70cm w/16' cable. After USPS some how screwed up 2 day shipping I received it today. Right away I was able to pick up a repeater about 15 miles away. The signal was so bad with the Diamond I could only make out someone speaking. All I did ...

Re: Keeping communications powered in the field...

I'm just getting into learning about all of this myself and I've been reading anything I can and watching youtube videos about the Baofeng UV-5R +. I started studying last week for the Tech and I am also going to go ahead & take the General at the same time about a month from now. The following site...

I finally decided on a hammock. Over the past couple of months I've been piecing together an Eno system. As of yesterday I've finished getting everything. Eno Doublenest in Olive. I like my GSR. http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5342/9459221762_792053e78a_z.jpg http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2886/9456439387_118a465c88_z.jpg I really need to revise my pics as I forget to put a mag in when I took the pictures. For my suppressed rounds I'm using Trail Boss and Hornady 180 grain BTSP.

I had no idea this was out there until I read this thread. I'm up to chapter 13. I've been listening since last week. Every time I get in the car I'm listening. (Granted 1+ hour 1 way commutes help.) It's almost as gripping as 24.

Anybody know of a good place online to get shoes in large sizes? I wear a 14/15E(depending on who makes it), and i can never find any hiking shoes. Went to Kohl's today and the biggest size they carried was 13. :vmad: If there is an REI near you, go. I wear anywhere from 15-16 4E. They do have larg...

Re: Ruger SR22 pistol with Range report

Just an fyi, I ran a 100 round box of the CCI Subsonics through mine and I had absolutely no problems with it. Now for them to get that threaded barrel out. Edit: next week for the heck of it I'm going to buy 1 or 2 50 round boxes for the Gemtech subsonic to try in my various .22's. The range I go t...

I haven't shot it with the can on yet. I need to load some subsonic rounds first. I was planning on doing it this past weekend but I wasn't able to. I will do it soon though.

My Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle finally came in as of 7/30/12 and I picked it up 8/1/12. It was very close to being 11 months on order. I sent 30 rounds down range Saturday from 10-25 yards all free hand so I can't say I was doing very well with it, but the rifle works wells. I need a sling for it badl...

Re: Ruger SR22 pistol with Range report

I picked one up yesterday on an impulse buy. Originally went to pick up my new suppressor. I always seem to buy a gun when I go to order or pick up something I've ordered..hmm. Need to work on that. Anyways. I like it. I tried to get the skinny grip off while in the shop but gave up. It worked well ...
