Re: chevrolet k5 vs blazer

well the problems with fuel economy come down to the following issues: 1986 K5 has a carb (1987 was first year for fuel injection btw). It has a 700R4 transmission, hich while it was a great trans for its time, it was still power sapping, which also would rob you of fuel mileage as well. aerodynamic...

Re: Buying diesel in the summer and storing until winter?

Sorry for the late reply, i just got notification, and it looks like it has been covered already. But one thing to look at with diesel fuel storage is water in the fuel. Where there is water in fuel, you will find algae. When that algae gets into the fuel system it can and will clog up filters and i...

Re: Buying diesel in the summer and storing until winter?

you can certainly store diesel in plastic as long as its rated for petroleum. As far as gelling, i would put in some DieselKleen in the white bottle (white bottle is winter formula, silver bottle summer, red bottle is emergency anti-gelling). http://powerservice.com/psp_product/diesel-fuel-supplemen...

Re: Finnally A V8 Small Block American Diesel

havent had a chance to run it, I bought the kit, while my trans was out being rebuilt. I am still awaiting it to come back. but those that have the 467 say its a hair laggier that a compound but it has so much more pull than the compounds.

Re: Finnally A V8 Small Block American Diesel

I can't speak for all makes but for the last decade or so computers on Ford, Porsche, and Honda have been within a half mpg of hand calculating. I almost think the computer is more accurate. Hand calculating doesn't account for a lot of variables whereas the computer has to know exactly what is goi...

where at? where the intake hits the head? If so, sounds like an intake gasket. or is it one of the various vacuum fittings or is it the actual intake manifold being cracked?

Re: 1983 Bronco Project

i would check the condition of the carb. the factory carb's are junk. might need a rebuild. On mine i chose to just do a small holley truck avenger 670. i ended up overfueling out of the box on my 302, so i had to jet it down a bit, but was awesome until i spun a bearing
