Our county system uses a siren/ text to phone system with radio/ TV as backup. I was blissfully watching streaming TV for the NCAA Tournament when the sirens went off. My phone was two rooms away set on vibrate. The federal government bought everybody here Weather Alert Radios ( https://midlandusa....

Re: World War Flea - the Flea Apocolpsye in Real time
Crazy. We had a wild flea infestation earlier in the year, and I thought it would be an amusing short story, similar to the one above. Maybe in the style of daily journal entries. We retreated to our uninfested portion of our house, and lived like we were camping. Well, really nice camping with a ho...

You know how when you see those Nuclear Missle Silo's for sale and you think "That would be fun, but so much money and effort and I would likely kill myself". I ran across a post on reddit about a guy rehabbing his very own nuclear missile silo. He doesn't update very much but it is very entertainin...

I have an '88 chevy truck and it's been worked on by everyone and their brother throughout the years, so you never know what your going to find.
Anyway, I had a positive battery cable against the exhaust. It would short out when it got hot, but only when it was hot. It was initially very mysterious.

You can make/buy washable toilet paper too. It could be argued that it works better then the paper stuff.Anianna wrote:Get some menstrual cups and some washable pads and you'll be good to go when other ladies dependent on a disposable world are desperately seeking absorbent leaves.

Do you have a couple of examples of that? Last time I looked at mutual funds was during and shortly after the 2008 thing, so the 20 year returns were pretty awful.Evan the Diplomat wrote:...put the balance in a no load mutual fund with a twenty year return of 15 to 20 percent or research it your self.

My understanding is that you can use radios that are "type accepted" for your band.
