Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

Conversely, when she got it in the GN, I was speechless. Yea less drama and lotta action... Don't get me wrong- the drama is important in drawing us in as viewers, so that we emotionally invest in these characters, and we give a crap what happens to them. I just think the Lori character was big wea...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

Nothing to really add here except: See what they did? You hate Lori and they kill her off in a way that makes you sad about it. Signature move right there (re Kirkman style). *Here's the played-ass trope or the easy piece of bait... YOINK!* I bet we see Lori rise because Carl (and not wrongfully) d...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

I'm probably looking into it too much, but it almost seems as if Rick is the brother Daryl always wanted (and the rest of the group, perhaps the family). So it will be interesting indeed, when "the brother he got" shows up. I think you're right on the money. Daryl is a guy that appears to have reci...

Nobody implied they would. I was speaking to the question of where sharks could be found.

But thanks for the news. I'm sure we will all sleep easier.

Re: Hurricane Sandy - the next "perfect storm"?

Pretty much all the attacks we've had in my area have been, or are suspected to have been, Bull sharks. We had Great Whites off Cape Cod this year. Some info- http://www.wwmt.com/shared/newsroom/features/national/stories/wwmt_researchers-tag-great-white-sharks-off-cape-cod-1507.shtml?wap=0 http://m...

Agree on the ease with which the Guardsmen went down. I suspended disbelief in the name of enjoyment, but I thought it was a real weak-spot in the episode.

Same here in NW Rhode Island. It got interesting for a bit, but we got off really light. Be safe, everybody.

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

I enjoyed last night’s episode. The Governor character is terrific -- strong, smart, suave, insane (the head collection in the aquariums suggests a deep mental disturbance ala a serial killer who collects trophies).. Yeah I'm really digging "TV Governor". He appears, so far at least, to be smarter ...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

no I'm saying Andrea has the Guns so how does Rick have them at the prison. Oh, she didn't have all of them. She had the bag and a couple of guns with a couple of nearly empty boxes of bullets. Yeah as they escaped the farm, Herschel had the bottomless 12GA and Glenn had Shane's 590 at the very lea...

Re: "Walking Dead" Cable Series

I'm still hanging on to my hate for Lori from last season. Looks like Rick has had enough of her bullshit too. Agreed. FINALLY. I just laughed at her "poor me" BS last night. Now that Rick has turned that corner I don't feel the need to get pissed about it anymore. I may turn it into a drinking gam...

If you can survive that winter, you can survive the zombies. Heck they would freeze to death before scratching at the door. Just make sure you can jump out the back window onto the roof of your bug out school bus. Or something. :awesome: Mainers don't need no BOV bro, Maine is where ya' bug out to ...

Re: 22lr rifle for my 10yo son's birthday

I'd go with a single shot if this is his first gun. Slows things down and lets you focus on teaching. Bolt Action or break action. My kid has a break action with .22 and .410 barrels. He likes that he can swap. Looking last night on.ine, I found this one, and it appeals... http://www.budsgunshop.co...

If nothing else, volunteering shows you what real loss is, and in times of disaster, what's really important. snip Wow that's a powerful photo right there. Close to my heart. Just started volunteering at a local animal shelter myself. I haven't witnessed a reunion yet.....but when I do, I think eve...

Mine started life as a 20", and ended up as a 12" and still shoots MOA at 110yds haha. I'm sure 16" will be fine, but I wouldn't be opposed to going shorter. Cheers, Sean. Isn't the cut off for SBR taxes 16"? I assume this is why the question limits it to 16. Mantis and I were talking in a differen...

Re: Lever Guns Talk Thread

OK Z-SQUAD...ROSSI MODEL 92 IN .357 WHICH WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE...16 INCH BARREL OR 20 INCH AND WHY? Personally, I'd go with 16". Most .357 loads really don't seem to benefit much from more than that. 16" to 18" seems to be, in most cases, the sweet spot. You'd get a longer sight radius, but we're ...

Lol do a lot of people have this same problem? Definitely. Do some searching around the site. Many threads devoted to the topic of family/friends/significant other not "getting" the prepping thing. I'm lucky- my wife is 100% on board. However I don't even talk about it with my mother. She isn't all...

While SIGINT/IMINT support from NATO likely proved very useful, I think it is clear they really could also have used a big f**kin' shipment of helper springs.

Re: Lever Guns Talk Thread

Yeah I think it's a top-eject '94 (not 100% certain because of the photo angle), so pre-'83 production. Beyond that, I don't know the Winchesters well enough to tell you any more. Looks like it's in good condition though. There may be a way to determine externally if it is a pre or post '64 gun, bu...
