If I was ever going to move to another country...it would probably be Germany, or NZ... I'm thinking the Czech Republic would be perfect for me. Either that or Canada, but given the fact 80% of my relatives live there I'm thinking the Czechs might have a Chimp as a resident sooner than the Canadian...

I should not have tried to force my way into this conversation. SO WHAT ABOUT GUNS, I HEARD THEY GO PEW PEW AND MAKE HOLES INTO STUFF AND OTHER WILD THINGS! Guys I have an honest question. I'm thinking about buying my first rifle. I have experience with a lot of different firearms, but I've never o...

Disclaimer: I've only been in the business for 2 years and thus can't actually remember these times. No idea how these things work outside of Europe. Here it's drug-branded calendars at best these days. The pens are pretty good, the notepads are good firelighters, the pads that are used to keep tem...

The linky doesn't work dood. I am hazarding the guess that they are the expandable plastic mesh bags, seeing as you mentioned marbles, yes? I know they kept my marbles nice and shiny! The worst case would be that you buy a bag of marbles, it doesn't work, and a kid you know gets a bog of marbles. ;-)

Your hvac, cooktop, oven and hot water will probably contribute towards the 1700kwh per month figure quite significantly. For a total home solar system, your idea of using your electricity consumption off your bill is a good one though. What I would do when working out the expected kwh usage is to b...

I reckon pink would have been a better choice for a coating.

I think for future elk hunts I want a larger caliber than the 270 even though it worked. Either 308 or 30-06 is what I am thinking for future elk hunts. Now for the hive mind..... Just found out I can get drawn for buffalo in AZ. Not sure what caliber to use on that one. May I ask why you feel the ...

Fair enough Raxar. "Headspace" was something that was screaming out to me as well. Another member mentioned via PM that it's probably the primer pocket getting a thorough reaming with, possibly, overcharging with powder. I've had a bit of an email discusssion with the manufacturer, and supplied a fe...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.
There are plenty of component decisions to anguish over on a budget AR build. If Aero Precision is your baseline, the lower receiver doesn't need to be one of them. Thanks to you and DocFabulous for your input! I'm still squeamish about buying the thing unseen, but nowhere near how much I was befor...

Re: All purpose "Help me build my AR" thread.
I know that the Mantra is usually 'A lower is a lower is a lower', but due to the current situation regarding AR15 parts in NZ I'm going to ask the dumb question anyway... The cheapest stripped lowers I've found here are the Aero Precision ones. Reviews seem to be good online, but does anyone have a...

A Mos7n is roughly equivalent to a .30-06, and plenty of older hunters use those here to blast deer with. There's no such thing as too mich gun! Have at Bambi!

How much meat (weight wise) do you expect to get off one of those things?

Yes to remanufactured ammo, no to "new" gun. I've only had it a little while, but it was bought second-hand off a very good friend of mine.

Yes they did, luckily they didn't end up in the bcg or trigger group of the rifle.
Interesting pressure signs on the base of the cases too.

If the thumbhole stock makes use of the safety difficult , I would install an ambi safety and manipulate it with the triggerfinger . I'd just like to say that I'm a complete idiot and hadn't even considered that. Great idea, I'll chase one up in my next round of 'buying shit for gunzzzz'...

I feel like a bad reloader when I see the amount of effort that a lot of people put into tracking how many times they've made X load, and labelling the ammo boxes with the contents. I keep hard copy of all the worked up loads, but I don't log how many individual batches I've made. Should I be doing ...

I noticed you are in NZ, how hard is it to find ammo? I just mean finding it, not the outrageous prices they may charge. For a while in my AO, 22LR is still a bear to even find. Luckily I find enough on the Internet to keep me shooting. :) .223 was harder during "the panic" but it's back on the she...

My latest ammunition purchase turned up!

Local re-manufacture, mixed brass, and it was the cheapest .223 I could find at 64c per. Can't wait to see how it shoots.
