Re: Understanding the current Financial Mess in the US

“Look, I was there when the Secretary (U.S. Treasury, Hank Paulson) and the Chairman of the Federal Reserve (Ben Bernanke) came those days and talked with members of Congress about what was going on. It was about September 15th (2008). Here’s the facts, and we don’t even talk about these things. On ...

Re: Steps to buying an AR?

I have 3 AR's (Noveske, Noveske/LMT, Colt), but if I was looking right now, I would go grab a bushmaster off the shelf of my local FFL. Most of the shortcomings of bushmaster that people harp on can be dealt with buy just dropping in a higher quality bolt carrier group.

Re: Maryland CCW: light at the end of the tunnel?

I think it won't happen. Too many liberal congress members in the PG and Baltimore County areas. Now if western Maryland (Frederick to Garret County) could have it's own government there would have been concealed carry many years ago. I will send a note to some judiial committee reps, thanks for men...

Re: New Glock 26

Very Nice. I have a glock 36 on the way to my FFL. Have to go pay for it and fill out paperwork in a couple hours. I own a 21 and 30, so I figured I would stay with the .45 ACP models to simplify my ammo needs. I've been looking for a Ruger LCP, .380 as a pocket gun as something smaller than the glo...

Re: Glock 36

I'm considering the 36. I have a 30 and 21. I would like something that weighs less and is thinner in case it becomes needed to conceal carry.

Re: Understanding the current Financial Mess in the US

Two reports that are very important to get familiar with are: 1) The Financial Report of the United States Government - Comes out yearly just before Christmas. The mainstream media will never mention it. The source it the United States Treasury and the Goverment Accountability Office. Long story sho...

Re: Boiling enough?

I will be boiling if I have fuel and running through a big berky filter after boiling. If I don't have fuel I will bleach and then run through a big berky filter. Remember that household bleach starts to degrade after 6 months. It is much better to buy Pool Shock (Calcium Hypochlorite) in crystals t...

I would pick a Charles Daly Defense - Law Enforcement Carbine if my budget was under $1000: http://www.charlesdalydefense.com/firearms.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The price on their site is high. Re: Buying silver

Sorry about the double post. What will the default in India do to the precious metals market? I just think it shows another example of high demand for physical silver and not enough of it to go around. Same thing is happening at APMEX, but APMEX won't sell you what it does not immedaltey have on ha...

Re: Buying silver

Silver prices are going down, but there is currently a disconnect between physical and paper prices. The price over spot is higher than usual, that is if you can even find the product that you are looking for at a reasonable price. Hopefully this clears up, but I have no clue how long it takes for ...

Nothing wrong with a little vivarin. I pill is 200mg of caffeine. A cupof coffee is about 100-150mg of caffiene. Moderation is the key to everything. Taking 200mg to wake up faster or last a little longer at night is not going to hurt you. If you are drinking a pot of coffee or taking 5 200mg pills ...

Re: Buying good gear and never needing to worry

I bought an Eagle Industries Discrete Rifle Case for over $150. It was perfect, could not be happier with the construction and materials. Then I saw a cheap knock off at cdnn for $49.99. Ordered one without a picture of the inside and it's a bust compared to the eagle. Now I am going to have to go b...

Re: Buying silver

I get the impression that A LOT of people are buying precious metals right now. The recent price drop has them thinking that they are getting a deal. I know of a couple different online retailers that have sold a good portion of their inventory. This means that the demand is outpacing the supply. D...

Re: Ammunition Accountability Act

Another question... if the breachface & firing pin are what puts the numbers on the ammo, then its not an ammo thing, but a gun thing. Now, adding $5 or $10 to the price of each NEW gun to add these features wouldnt (necessarily) be a bad thing, and since I don't plan to do nefarious things with my...

Re: Ammunition Accountability Act

Under this law, if you shot 300 rounds off at the range, you better account for all of those casings. Someone could pick up shell casings that have a serial number registerd to you and reload them, or leave them scattered at a crime scene. The whole proposal is absurd, but that won't stop lawmakers ...

Re: Ammunition Accountability Act

This was introduced in several states last year and defeated. I followed it closely in Marylad where it was defeated. This is a little different than what got enaced in CA. Of course there was only one company in a position to make the needed ammo if the bills passed and they standed to gain an enor...

Re: Combat Optics for a MBR (AR)

I started with a Bushnell red dot (basically an Eotech without the extra hood). I liked it, but it did suck down the batteries. I switched to an Aimpoint CompM4, which I like better. Then I added the 3x scope in front of it, on a LaRue swivel mount. Definately the way to go. The 3x scope swivels in...

Re: How much Ammo should you carry in storage

I'm keeping mine to 5.56, 45acp, and 22lr. I'd like to have on hand - 5k-6k of 5.56, 10k of 22lr, and 3k of .45acp. Not really for zombies, but to have on hand when/if the politicians start to put taxes, or serialization, or banning of ammo. Guns, ammo, high cap mags, get them now before the electio...
