Re: Clerk; The Zombie Killer

I am happy to see this story rolling again. The characters seem to have a lot of potential.

Re: How do you kill an ear infection...in the PAW?

I was talking about this subject with my father, and he endorses the 'onion juice' remedy described by Turbolax. He tried it, and it worked quickly and effectively. In his version of the remedy, the juice was heated to body temperature before pouring it in his ear. (This post sounds horribly anecdot...

Re: Does anyone believe in this New World Order?

Oh yes, the Pentaverate . The Queen, the Vatican, the Ghetty's, the Rothchilds, and Colonel Sanders before he went tits-up. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Honestly, most countries seem to be on the edge of fragmentation, and many others have crazy levels of nationalism (eg. China and Russia). As suc...

Birch bark can also be used to make watertight baskets.

Re: Attempted break in at my place. Help me beef up security!

I have a Mossberg 500 Persuader, and I like it. It has a seven round magazine, handles 2 3/4" and 3" rounds, puts holes in the things I point it at, and makes me feel giggly when I pump it. I bought mine new for about $300, and it seems to be good quality. I am not super-tacticool, but, to me, it is...

Re: Chainsaws!!!

I recently bought a Stihl 064AV, it is an 1988 commercial model (85cc), but I have only tested it on one tree. The tree fell down before I could get any load on the engine  , so I will have to give a better review when there is less snow and I can drop more trees. However, most of my cuttin...

Re: Worst/Most Hated zombie films

The remake of "Day of the Dead" hands down.....instant decaying, ultra fast "Benny Hill" style zombies that climb walls and ceilings like spiders....how can it get worse that that? I agree--Day of Dead was horrible. After watching it (fast forwarding through large sections), I logged on to bi...

You could even try calling the bank and bitching about the state that the place is in and claim that it is ruining your resale value. Tell them that you had thought about mowing and cleaning up the front yard as a neighborly act; however, you did not want to get charged with theft, vandalism, or tre...

Re: You've just won $50 million in the lottery, what do you do..

Tell as few people as possible. Make sure that my family is squared away financially, but in a way that increases their independence (enhanced employment opportunities, self-employment, etc). Honestly, it would take me a while to get used to it, so I would probably invest most of it and continue goi...

Re: Day of the Dead Remake - **Trailer**

I just watched this movie this morning. It was awful (offal). I started fast-forwarding through the show, something that I never do. Coordinated zombie transformations with instant rotted faces? WTF! Smart zombies (the kid hiding the bodies)? Random people continuously eaten in the street? Nick Cann...

Re: Tweaking Zombie of Vegas Land(script film short)

Okay. Now I definitely get the slot machine part and appreciate it much more. But drugging a guy and dragging him out to the car to drive him out into the desert to mug him, kill him and bury him just seems like very exhausting and inefficient criminal activity. Sorry, but his death just seems like ...

[/quote] not really an urban egen more just a vegas movie cliche. Thanks MJS8725. I get such a kick out the way he talks. I don't know how many people watch TPB, so I wondered if anyone would recognize him, or if everyone would just think that it was a picture of me.

Re: Elevator

Thanks for the feedback. I added extra carriage returns like you suggested and it does look a lot better. I do have a question for anyone who reads the story: is the main character's attitude towards his elevator-mate too bitter/acidic (as in making him sound like a misogynist)?

Elevator

The following is short story that I have been working on. I think that it may need rewriting to be structurally sound, but I thought that I would give ZSers sound more reading material and get some constructive feedback. -H An elevator—I am going to die in an elevator. I am sitting on the floor of t...

Hey Squirrely, Yes, we have a staggering amount of pine beetle-killed trees. Supposedly, the current infestation started in Tweedsmuir Park. Due to forestry policies that that called for replanting only pine trees to form mono-culture plantations, there are huge swaths of prime BC forest that are ni...

Last Christmas, I shopped for new pair of boots and originally set out with a $150 limit. I bought a cheap pair (McKinle...

Yugosaki: Try starting a conversation with her at the bus stop. Let her know you live nearby, to allay any fears of stalking. I like it. The photography concept is cool enough on its own. The use of HDR just makes it that much cooler. I would like to see more abandoned industrial-type imagery and some rural action too.

Have you considered trying the sgian dubh that is described in Doc66's stories, Cole and Owen. It sounds effective, easy to make and usable in real life.
