Re: New 1911 grips anyone?

Nope, no need, the scales provide a very positive grip. Not quite as aggressive as some of the stippling jobs you see done with soldering irons and Glocks, but still quite good.

Re: living in a camper

Did this very same thing not long ago. Have the pictures to prove it too.

Had to do it on the cheap and the damage was comparable to what you described.

Re: How to make leather Viking-style shoes

If you are good with sewing leather you can add a hardened leather sole by sticking the leather in hot water for few seconds, to harden it, then sewing it on while it is still wet.

Re: Does anyone concealed carry a government 1911?

A good belt is a must for a heavy pistol. I carry a full size all steel cz75. Not a 1911 but a beast of a weapon never the less. Belt made all the difference between concealed and pretending to be such.

Re: Gunleather

If you don't want to add tape to your stocks, I have found little bits of rubber non slip sheeting work fine. Find it in craft stores and whatnot. About as thin at bike innertubes.

Used to use it all the time for those little nylon shell holders.

Glad you like the holder Kace.

Re: Mexico becoming a failed state?

Any way this could be related to the work of the Cartels? A Nicaraguan diplomat was found dead this morning in the Bronx with his throat slit, authorities said. The 34-year-old man, identified as Cesar Mercado, was found at 10:30 a.m. in a building at 2070 Grand Concourse near E. 180th Street. Merca...

Re: I Bought a Winchester 1300 Defender

You did pretty good. I have a 1200 Defender that I paid about the same amount. The 1200 is basically the same gun but with cheaper wood but internally it is the same. 1200 and 1300 accessories are interchangeable and pretty easy to find. Only one problem with the Defender models are the barrels, wh...

Re: What was the weirdest/coolest house your parents ever ow

First house I remember was in Gettysburg Pa. It's construction predated the war by a fair margin, and according to my parents still had some evidence of damage from the battle in the attic and some of the interior walls.

Left it when I was in 1st grade though, so I ain't sure.

Re: Gun Myths? What have you heard?

I suppose it's plausible in some regards but the first time I heard it, it was regarding house walls. What are they commonly made out of over there, bricks? Mud and Straw from what I hear. Much better at absorbing bullets than bricks are actually. My inner redneck-hippie dichotomy really makes me w...

Re: can you can fried eggs?

Can you? I would imagine yes.

Would they taste good? Probably not. More than likely they would turn green as well.

Edit: Yes low acid, high protein foods require pressure canning.

Now you could pickle them though.
