Re: Springfield Saint?
Sadly, I am more interested in this thing due to it annoying me with its cliche marketing than actually wanting to buy another Springfield. That is the case with me as well. It almost seems like it's some sort of parody than something they want us to take seriously. Bearded operators, dramatic ligh...

Re: When Are Firearms Too Old to Shoot Safely?
I have been told that due to outgassing modern polymer firearms my not last as long as their metal counterparts. Unlike rust which can be prevented outgassing can not. I really should research this more but we really won't know for sure until we have 70 year old glocks to examine.

You actually ate a dark brown packaged MRE and lived to tell the tale? Looks like these things are good for decades after all.

Re: Global Debt Time Bomb explodes soon
Raptor makes a good point. We have all seen the person who's entire SHTF idea of currency is that they will have a ton of cash, a bunch or precious metals, or thousands of rounds to trade. The real solution is, unsurprisingly, flexibility. Having not just cash and gold, but debit and credit cards, a...

Re: Game of Thrones HBO; All Seasons with Spoilers
So what's the odds on Melisandre bringing Jon Snow back to life, like how Thoros kept resurrecting Beric Dondarrion? That really depends on whether the writers grasp proper story telling or not. If the don't he stays dead and they have told one of the longest shaggy dog stories ever. If they do the...

Re: Sig 556 to 553 conversion....MFI Swiss Style Rear Sight.
Those sights were supposed to be out years go, but they ran into manufacturing difficulties. I got the announcement email too, but sold my Sig 556 sometime in 2012 to someone who was very happy to get it.

Re: Fallout 4......
I think he is right about waiting. Due to the popularity of Game of the Year Editions and Steam sales there is quite frankly no reason to pay more than half price ($20-$30) for a AAA title with all DLC included if one can exercise a bit of patience. I think I got Fallout NV and all it's DLC for I th...

Re: Fallout 4......
I'll mostly be doing that since I'm sure there's not going to be an Xbox 360 version released. :( I am fairly certain there wont be. According to this article "Bethesda had already clarified that Fallout 4 would not be coming out on Xbox 360 and PS3, citing it wouldn't be possible to pull off what ...

Re: Russian-Pattern AK-47s to be manufactured in US?
So, uhh, anyone in the market for a $3K AK with fine American hardwood? Only $4K for the stainless one. Can an AK even be made out of stainless? A bit of goggling seems to indicate that it would be quite difficult and expensive.

Asymetryczna I know that looks bad, but honestly the water use there is negligible. We could do away with all lawn watering in the state and it would not even begin to cover the shortfall.

Re: The All Purpose AK Thread
CAI AKs can be OK. I had a SAR-1 for a few years and never had any issues with it. I suppose the design of the AK lends itself to being re-manufactured on the cheap. Remember with a gun like a WSAR allot of the parts are actually use and refinished, as opposed to the brand new parts you get with oth...

Re: Fallout 4......
I didn't mind the green tint, but I do prefer the more normal color scheme. I'm hoping there will be less time required to be spent in the subways. I think they added a lot of character to Fallout 3, but I don't enjoy dungeon crawls that much. Video games can creep me out really easily, and being s...

Re: Fallout 4......
I am fully aware of the history of the license and developers. I don't think that the east coast Fallout is necessarily bad, and allot of the Fallout 3 design choices I take issue with have little to nothing to do with the setting (Vampires? Seriously? WTF?). Also I don't want to put Western-style i...

Re: Fallout 4......
I've got mixed feeling on this one. While its nice to see more Fallout, and more colorful Fallout, I can't help but note Bethesda's complete inability to write compelling characters or narratives. They do a good job with world building though, so it's almost as if they should craft the framework, an...

I really don't think so. According to this chart I think it would most likely fall under large landscaping, which uses one percent of the water. It does warrant further digging though.

Re: California Drought
It's not the population density that's causing the problem. Agriculture use accounts for more than 75% of the fresh water used in California. This is why I find lawn watering restrictions and whatnot so laughable, as they are nothing but a bandaid on a bullet hole. Unfortunately any real solutions a...

Re: Experiences with automatic knives?
I carried a Benchmade Infidel for a number of years. It didn't do anything a normal locking blade knife couldn't and was more expensive and more finicky. The novelty wore off after about six months and I sold it for what I paid for it.

I would argue that you are already as prepared for such an attack as one could reasonably expect.Paladin1 wrote:I concur with many in this thread, you cannot really prepare for a Mumbai type of attack with multiple, rifle armed gunmen, who have planned it. Great, another article extolling us to all be Jason Bourne. Unless you a cop your response to this is fairly simple, escape to the nearest exit (preferably a side/maintenance exit), using your firearm only if absolutely necessary. If one has the ability they might be able to "cover" the escape of ot...

Doctorr Fabulous you do understand why so many find the timing of this to be quite suspicious. After 30 years of letting it slide they just wake up one morning and decided to rescind the exemption. I do hope that this is the end of it, and not the beginning of somthing with regard to AR pistols.

Re: Ukraine unrest
Think about it this way. Would the US be willing to risk nuclear war with Russia over ensuring the sovereignty of said countries? If the anwser is no then said countries will have to look to their own defense, NATO will collapse and we get to go back to the pre WWI mess of alliances, except this tim...

Hmm, forgive my ignorance (again) but I don't suppose there is a way that M193 and the like could be next? Some element of it's construction that could be interpreted to fit the ATF's definition armor piercing?

#1 If you plan on selling those rounds after 3/15/2015 people will be in violation of fed law . #2 And forget loading your own ( no projos for sale ) either after said date My understanding was that you couldn't manufacture or conduct retail sale. Got a link to where it says those who already owned...
