Re: Help Me Pick a Knife

If it makes you more comfortable, Ive bought from LA Police gear before and I don't believe they are shipping fakes. If not go to Gerbers home page and click where to buy ( I do this anytime I buy if I haven't heard of a company, I've also called manufacturers before to make sure I was buying from a...

Re: Got a budget of $500 needs some help

I use a MSR mug mate for coffee, or you could pack extra coffee filters and make teabags or buy the coffee singles. I'm going to base my next idea on the fact that these items are just for bugging out and your not going to use these items any other time. Also assuming other people will be bugging ou...

Re: Full Tang Survival Knife

"The knife is for all-around survival and needs to be durable. It will also be my backup weapon."

Given the statement above and Cyborg's checklist in my opinion the Gerber LMF/ASEK is the knife your looking for.

Re: Full Tang Survival Knife

Your going to have to pick 1 steel characteristic that's most important and the go from there, or rate them in order of importance because you wont get them all.

Instead of trying to pull the screws deeper into the leather , you could put some moleskin over the exposed metal.

Re: My two knife prototypes *(edited with website update)*

Just a few quick initial thoughts. I received my Ambush today , It was sharp out of the box , very secure feel in your hand , Overall very nice finish to it, The handles are secured well to the blade. The sheath is secure and slim, so I can throw it in my pocket with no worries. I am very happy with...

Re: My two knife prototypes *(edited with website update)*

I want this as an EDC knife , I prefer fixed blades. I u...

If you are interested in the Eagle courier bag check out SKD They have the non LE version for $105 and the LE version for $154 I ended up ordering a bag from Rothco and put the Bailout bag from LAPolice gear inside for organization and on the outside I have a plain looking bag that attracts no atten...

I'd be interested in any opinions also , I have a summer special for IWB but am not a big fan of it.

I prefer OWB but would like to get something comfortable in IWB for concealment issues.

Re: EDC "Pod" w/pics

There is a Clif bar recall right now, so check your stock to make sure.

I would say to add a firestarter or two,Multi -tool, a bottle of water ,and a pen and paper. But you may already be carrying that.

What else is in shoulder bag or in your pockets?

Edit to add: a cheap poncho ,moleskin

I don't know how they collect their Data but if some one called me or sent me a questionnaire asking if there were any guns in the household , I wouldn't tell them. I would also assume a lot of people do face to face deals to purchase firearms , just to avoid a paper trail. I have given my brother o...

This may sound stupid, But check your gas cap.
When they are not venting properly they can cause problems.

When you open if you get a gasp of air its probably fine , If there is any kind of pressure built up its no good.
