Re: Water tower help?

If you pipe a 1 or 1.5 water riser pipe then reduce it to say 1/2 inch pipe this will further increase water pressure. Please correct me if I am wrong, but pipe diameter should not effect the psi of the water flow. It will however effect the total pressure being that say 10 psi over the cross secti...

Re: Does anyone believe in this New World Order?

I think it more than likely will happen. It may not be a fluent single government, but i think it will function like one. 1. In order for a global government to succeed there must be the elite (with their money and power) and then everyone else (with nothing), with no middle class between them. This...

Re: Water storage barrels

They are plastic. I think I found an alternative from a local soda bottler. I am waiting to hear back from the rep, but he indicated that I shouldn't have a problem acquiring some plastic drums if they have some. The drums they have are food grade, but they will not release them to you to use for po...

Water storage barrels

I have access to some 55 gallon barrels that had soap for a car wash stored in them. Should I grab up a few or pass on these for storing drinking water? how about for rain barrels?

Re: Toilet Troubles

IDK if 1.5 liters is enough. The standard volume of water per flush is 1.6 gal (in the US at least). Some have a 1.4 gal flush for No 1 and then a 1.6 gal flush for No 2.

I can only hope that a poor economy with no money flow would mean less marketing. I wish death on commercials and advertisements. Everywhere I look someone is trying to sell me something.

What about making a candle with magnesium ribbon as the wick? It should keep the Mg from oxidizing and then you have some nice wax too. Just a thought.

It sounds like a conspiracy to me. Craigslist is trying to send you over the edge.

What do you do to them anyway?

I'll chime in. My thought is with enough time, resources and brain power anything is possible. I also think that advancements in science and technology have come from extraordinary people. Not just smart or motivated people but individuals that were so above their peers that through their discoverie...

Re: Attacked by a vicious dog tonight

So it always works except for when it doesn't? Kind of, I'll try and explain. The few dogs that I've had to either boot or shoo away from me with my foot were either really small and ankle high yappers who were trying to take a bite out of me (little dogs seem to be like that more for some reason) ...

Re: Guide rod spring on FNP-9

What do you think of the FNP? I'm thinking of getting one. I have an FNP-9 and I really like it. It has the DA/SA trigger and both are pretty smooth. There is a little take up in the SA but it isn't horrendous. The double action pull is perfect (in my opinion). It is balances well with a full mag i...

Re: Solar Panels and EMP?

Is the problem with electronics that are on? If you have a something-er other just sitting in at box, off, is it still going to get smoked? What about residual power in capacitors? Is that enough to cause shorts? In theory at least... Off or on shouldn't really matter. Like rpc said, it is believed...

Maybe the drafters of the legislation had the foresight to include such vague language to preclude the preemptive act of firearms confiscation? One could always hope that's the case, I suppose lets hope. but im skeptical of the "while acting in support of relief from a major disaster or emergency" ...

For the record, I just called my insurance company (State Farm) to make sure my homeowner's was squared away with respect to earthquake insurance, and found that that effective 28 April all earthquake policies in the St. Louis Metro area will rise from a 10% deductible to 20%. There will be an opti...
