Re: Flare guns with inserts

Being as how my family and I like to do a lot of boating, and such we carry a flare gun because some places require us to. I just saw it and thought it would be pretty cool/ possibly useful. As for defensive hand guns, I have a glock 17, 19, kahr cw40, and a armscor m200. I am good in that category...

Re: Flare guns with inserts

So came accross this pretty cool video on youtube of this guy with a polish model 78 26.5mm metal flaregun. He then produced an aluminum insert that allows the bore to fire a 410/45LC. Seemed pretty cool. After doing some digging found out that the insert can be purchased for under 20 dollars but i...

Re: Does brand actually matter for IWB "hybrid" holsters?

So it seems like everyone and their uncle is taking a slab of cowhide and stapling some kydex to it. Unlike a traditional hand-boned leather holster, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of technique and quality to separate the good from the bad. There's got to be at least a dozen brands offering t...

Re: How often do you switch up your EDC?

I'm happy with my choices and haven't made any changes in quite awhile. Typically I carry a G26 and a carrier that holds a G17 mag and a surefire light. Wardrobe permitting (typically in coat and jacket season) I also frequently carry a S&W 442 with a spare speed strip in addition to the Glock. Some...

What do you guys think of the P226?
It's a nice gun, and probably my favorite DA/SA full size 9. Having said that, for carry and competition guns I've moved to Glock. Though I still own some SIGs, and will probably keep buying some just because I like them.

Re: glock 26 or 17?

I went ahead and picked up a gen3 26. haven't shot it yet bought I have shot a gen4 26 and three only real difference between the two is grip size/texture. Nice choice, though I prefer the gen4. The G26 is such a nice carry gun, I hope you enjoy it. PS - Mag release is also different between the ge...

Re: MINI 14 FLAME WAR continued

Retired flag officers only speak to the press for political or monetary gain. I wonder which uber-rifle manufacturer he has a stake in. I don't know...it's hard to disagree with him when he says it's ineffective against bunkers. That's a crucial requirement for a rifle, isn't it? I haven't shot a m...

Re: 10 round magazines

There are good reasons for getting lower cap mags, those (bench/range use, hunting) have been mentioned. I use lower cap mags at the range sometimes. For instance, 9 and 20 round mags are nice to use in an AR if you are shooting off a bench. As a hedge against some future restriction I don't think i...

Re: Gun/Ammo sales drop precipitously

I've kept track of a number of the local people that have been offering the bulk pack bricks at crazy prices. One was interested in a pistol I was selling and asked if my price had any flexibility. I told him that for him it would be four times my asking price. I was amused, he was not :)

Re: Considering the Beretta M 92a1

The Beretta 92/M9 is THE! gun everbody on the internet loves to hate. Only because it's a giant brick of a pos. It's a great pistol for what it is. That doesn't mean it's a great pistol. The 1903 was a great rifle. But it's not a great rifle. Don't confuse use requirements with usefulness. The M9 w...

I noticed the video poster said they designed the stage. Did you design it so you could start shooting in SA? :)

Re: Considering the Beretta M 92a1

My biggest complaint is the weight and size. I'm not really a small dude, but I feel like the 92 was made for guys with really big hands. It's not a gun I would carry, but in terms of build quality and such it's a fine firearm. My personal preference would be any of the plastic competitors, but I w...

Re: Trying to pick out an entry level competition gun

I shoot mostly Glocks competitively, so I would go with a Gen4 34 if possible. Having said that, it may depend somewhat on exactly who is running the matches you want to do. Some 3gun stuff is basically just run by some people at a club for fun with few rules, other groups may not be that way. Thoug...

Re: Used Glock 22's for $349.

Heck, there are a bunch of $319 Gen3 G22s at GT. Also, anybody that has the ability to purchase "blue line" guns (you can Doc) can get brand new Gen3 or Gen4 ones for $398.20 to $425. A blue label gun here in Jacksonville is I think $475 out the door for the gun at Wild West. Most places do not see...

Not in my experience. the G22 is probably the most common police gun in the U.S. by a large margin. There always seem to be tons of trade ins out there for around that price.

I don't see them changing any of that, at least any time soon. Those weren't done with just CA in mind as I recall. On a related note, did S&W just recently switch to putting the ILS on everything? As of just a couple months ago you could still get revolvers without it. As far as I know they are sti...

Re: Scary experience, help me pick a revolver as an office g

Fuck me but I hope so. G42 aside, Glock's not that out of touch. I dunno. I gotta feeling the G42 is gonna be a huge financial success for the company. I tend to agree, the tiny('ish) .380 market is huge. While I'm not very interested in the .380 a whole lot of other people are. I imagine they'll s...
