Re: Overpaying

I know I overpayed for my Mosin M44; it's one of the one's Gander Mountain has for 150. Now, it did come with the sling, an ammo pouch, and that little tool kit thing with the oil/solvent bottle, but those really don't add another 75+ to the price.

Good deal or bad deal?

Was at Gander Mountain today killing some time while the fiance was doing some craft shopping, and found a couple handguns that didn't seem too bad a deal; the first was a used CZ-83 for 249 used, the second was an Nagant 1895 revolver for 150 used. Does that seem decent, or a rip off (both were in ...

I snagged a copy of volume 8 today at Borders. Haven't had a chance to read it yet, though.

Re: Carry handgun for the fiance?

Bit of an update;

We've been going around to a few different gun shops lately looking at guns for her (and so I can drool over the Kimbers and H&Ks). She seems to have fallen in love with the Bersa Thunder .380.

Yay?

Re: Quitting smoking

I've smoked for a few years now, and have tried to quit a few times without any success. But thinking about it, all the money I've wasted over the years buying smokes could've gone toward so many things that would've made my life better (or more enjoyable). You know what? Fuck it, today was my last ...

Carry handgun for the fiance?

I need a bit of help. My fiance decided that she wants a handgun to carry for self-defense should the need arise. Now, I've been doing what I can to help her pick, but...well, to be perfectly honest I don't exactly know much regarding firearms (I know enough to get by, but ya know). Now, she was loo...

For markings: The only one is on the blade just above the hilt:

The Patent No. is cut off, unfortunately. Only other visible marking is the 3740 on the sheath.

Here's a question; I wear prescription glasses. For eye wear, is there any brand/what-have-you that you can comfortably wear over normal glasses so I can actually see what I'm shooting at?

Along these lines; consistency. I can't count how many times I've seen some one in a movie use a 20-shot revolver, and in the next scene (the same gun) fires only 6 shots.

Good price for a CZ-75?

Was in Gander Mountain today, and they had a new CZ-75 for $350. Is that a good price, or can they be had for cheaper?
