Re: How to double your food supply at minimal cost

I agree with the OP for the most part. Im not a huge fan of weight watchers. Who knows what they put in that crap. Most posts on survivalist forums are about the fun aspects. No one wants to hear that to really have a shot in the paw you have to be fit and have a great knife, bag, sleeping system et...

Re: Henry Shire's Tarptents

Nice shelters.

Certain things crack me up tho. It says one of the sleep two shelters takes 2 minutes to setup. When you click on the video showing the setup, its an edited video thats over 5 minutes long.

Just something that amused me. Really nice setups.

Learn how to build a fire from materials found in the woods. Practice in your backyard. Do everything with a knife you can carry in your pocket. Go out on a warm night, and build a fire in the woods.Given you live somewhere relatively safe, free of grizzlies and mountain lions, etc. I was being sarc...

Re: If you had it all to do over again

I have read everything there is out there on various firearms, and would do it all exactly as I did. Most things in my life are "livingroom", but not my guns. "Livingroom" is my theory that almost everything people do or have is the result of pure chance. Most living rooms aren't designed and built ...

here an idea ive been toying with... What about keeping a 20 round magazine loaded with 18 rounds of M856 Tracer ammo. Since i'll have 18 rounds i could signal with 3 repetitions of SOS? THat way i'll have the report of the rifle which in those hills can be hard for many many miles due to the vario...

Re: Non-electric rice cooker

I used to cook rice all the time backpacking. I would pack it in, inside a ziplock with some finely chopped onion and canola oil. The canola oil prevents burning somewhat, gives you a little wiggle room considering all the changing variables, and makes the rice taste better. There is really only one...

Cosmic Rays and sunshine aren't the same thing. I find that black catches my eye and makes me look at it, especially when it's moving. I consider this a bad thing when trying to hide. I think solid earth tones provide the best camo vs. stand out in a crowd factor. Are you a superhero? Im guessing t...

i think glen is a smart cookie, just understandably distracted at the moment. He does whats best for the group at all times, and I feel thats how each character should be judged. Glen, Darryll, and T dog are the only people that dont drag the group down in some fashion. The rest act like they are at...

Re: Listerine as bug spray?

Where I work we have a porch that we all hang out on, as do the smokers(gross). BAD mosquito's when it starts to get dark. Rite Aid brand mouthwash and a mister for less than 5 bucks did wonders. No more mosquito's. But Im guessing our northeast skeeters are pretty fragile compared to those juicy ba...
