The more you can separate pee and poop, the easier it is to control the smell.
The two together make a much more potent aroma.

I read it all, but post mainly in Chat Thread these days; occasionally a thread will come up I can still contribute to.
I've mostly liked the food section, and off topic has always had a wide range of interesting subjects.

It took a few movies to show the entire life cycle, then they had the prequel.
I didn't care for the rest; oddball "worms" just showing up, Bert's kid, things like that. Jumped the shark (worm?) for me.

Re: Food and Water estimates
I like to put this thought out there about rationing: If everyone in your group is put on a diet at once, things will get hairy. EVEN IF everyone agrees it's a good thing, there will be griping and possibly a fistfight or two; and they will all blame the person with the keys to the food storage. If ...

Re: school shooting in Texas,
The problem is certainly not easier access to weapons... We used to take our guns to school, leave them at the teachers' desks and shoot "for the stewpot" on the way home. We also often had shooting contests at recess. (Yes, with live ammunition.) That's where I learned to throw a knife, too. Of cou...

Make sure you get enough salt as well as liquid, wash all creases in your body often to avoid perspiration salt cracking the skin (including the small of your back oddly enough) and a hand fan is your friend.

Not sure how you're getting energy from that nuclear power plant in 2018, it's closed. Has been for years. See link below. ---- https://www.duke-energy.com/our-company/about-us/power-plants/crystal-river In July 2015, the decommissioning Crystal River Nuclear Plant, known as CR3, reached its SAFSTOR...

Re: You Favorite Soup
I can see why wild venison would be expensive if you bought it. How many people for how much time does it take to get it to the kitchen? License, gas/car expenses, ammunition, time hunting, etc for the hunters; then money for the people who skin it and take it apart (who I assume legally for health ...

Great, now I want soup and we ate it all.
Yes, it was beef stew again.
We often put a few frozen peas & carrots in it.

Re: Tips for farmers cheese
It's sort of like cream cheese or cottage cheese (depending on how much you drain or press it). No flavor, so it picks up the flavors you use with it. Use it in anything you would use cream cheese, paneer or cottage cheese in - cheesecake, filling for blintzes, ravioli, and the like. Not sure why th...

Frankly, that sounds like what they used to decide what to charge us for flood insurance.
In an area that has never flooded, we pay more per month than those in New Orleans that actually have flooded pay per YEAR .

5) Drugs, alcohol, sexual relationships, and general chaos is not allowed in the home. If that is a problem, you will be seen to the door. 8) Men and women live in different parts of the house. Even married couples. If you need to live in my house you are in survival mode. You will survive and trea...

Well I'll tell you, the ATM I just tried to use was mean. Apparently, even hitting the pretend button with my fist was not hard enough for it to understand. A woman from the bank came out and rescued me (and my card) from it's clutches and gave me the money I needed. It was poke wait, poke with 2 fi...

I wouldn't grind hard things like nuts or corn in a plastic one (for fear of deforming the screw), but it should work for meats and cheese.

The Haiti earthquake was in 2010. If you go back in this thread to that time frame, I posted a couple photos of looters killing other looters there. An interesting point was people got killed fighting over children's toys, not food or supplies. You know, if you think about it as a total picture, th...
