Re: Essential Cleaning Kit Items?

For me: - Dewey chamber rod - fixed handle. Punches pistol barrels and reaches an AR15 chamber no problemo - Boresnake - Assorted bronze brushes for my stocked calibers + AR15 chamber brush - Assorted cleaning patches for mopping up crud - Toothbrush - Slip 725 - Slip EWL That pretty much does it fo...

Do you actually use the RH-side mag release?

If not, is it possible to pop that fucker out, sand it down flush and reinstall it? IE: Delete the ambi mag 'feature'

Re: Help Me Pick a New 9mm

I'm looking for an all-metal pistol because recoil has become a problem with my .40 XD Subcompact.
...honestly sounds more like a problem with it being a subcompact .40

That shit is snappy even in a full sized pistol.

Re: War Belt / Battle Belt Holsters and Mounting Options

Are you looking for a knife or a sharpened pry bar? Is this mainly a utility knife? Or is it's primary function poking someone who's just too close for comfort to gain distance before going to guns? If you're looking for utility, any half decent multi-tool will get-r-done. Sharpened prybar...gets a ...

Re: Your main folder/EDC?

My Manix is damn near brand new. I used my 0566 for everything before it got stolen. Had residue from tape stuck to the blade. Dings from being dropped. Scratches from being used as a bottle opener. The coated pocket clip was worn in places, etc. etc. I try not to keep coated blades and knives purel...

Re: Your main folder/EDC?

A month or two back I got my trusty ZT0566 stolen out of my car. Ran with an assisted Kizer folder for a bit, but there was just something about it that didn't jive with me. Wasn't getting "The Fizz" as it were. So I went ahead and picked up a Spyderco Manix 2 G10. I had been eyeballing one for a wh...

Re: AK rail

Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like they noticed a weak point and then deliberately stressed said weak point to failure. I think testing in which they dropped the rifle, fully assembled, onto the optic (maybe at a 45 degree angle or so) would have been much more informative. Lots of equipment...

Re: New Hearing Protection - Otis Ear Shield

That looks uncomfortable as fuck. Odd comparison - you may not be doing it right. There is no interference with stock weld. I don't have any interference with my cheek weld now. (Sordins + Foamies) http://i59.tinypic.com/117qkv9.jpg Even with a foam tip, the rest of the earpro (being what looks lik...

I'll stick with my foamies and sordins for now, at least until more reviews come about.

Re: Looking for a knife for the Missus.

Open carry and the sky is the limit. Concealed is another animal, and like Doc said you're limited to shorter blades and may want to expand to include folding knives as well. Kershaw Cryo knives are assisted opening, but can be easily de-assisted for a sweet little folder. If you're willing to save ...

Re: So Long COLT

The brand name Colt is a very valuable commodity. Even if the firm is liquidated in bankruptcy, the brand name "Colt" is not likely to go away any time soon. It would likely be purchased and put on some gun maker's product. Five bucks says Colt gets bought out by the same folks who bought Marlin, B...

I have a set in a range bag that I use for the range. Pretty much this. Its not really storage per se...just where ever they hap...
