Re: Budget crossbow?

Is making one and option? I always felt that if one wanted something but was not too sure how much they will use it or for what purpose than making one was a good option. I'm sure there are some instructions on the net for a good simple crossbow. Other than that, I know nothing about crossbows. Cro...

Re:

I'd love to see photos of someone's private bomb shelter, so +1. It's something I've always wanted to build on my own property, some day. A real working fallout/bomb shelter, even if it's just a modified basement. I'm looking for ideas, as I may (knock on wood!) be moving to a more rural part of th...

Re: Muela knives?

I've bought one, it was better then it looked.
It was also my 2nd fixed blade knife, and I haven't used it for over a year, but even with that its still sharp and has no rust.

Re:

Well, if you're going to want to deal with a zombie, then you'll need to break the skull. Crowbar or a pick is probably your most efficient way to do this. Axes, clubs or bars all will take more stregnth, as the blow isn't quite as focused. Don't try to decapitate, it would take an amazing quality ...

Whats your maximium bow draw?

I shoot at 40 pounds, but I can easily enough shoot the 50 and 60 settings on my bow. My bow has cams though, and I find that makes it easier to shoot. Maybe just a mindset, but yeah. The only friend I know who can shoot a bow shoots a single strength bow at 50 pounds, but can't reach anything above...

Australian laws when it comes to weapons are essentially "Yes" with a big "if you have a valid reason". Self defence is not a valid reason to own a firearm of any kind unless you're a Police officer or security guard (with licences for guarding and firearms). You can have guns if you're a competiti...

Ok, so have any of you ever seen a compound snap a wooden arrow for yourselvs? The archers paradox is worse on a long bow isn't it because the arrow is shooting around the bow? Geoff Yes. A friend of mine broke the string on a compound. I told him not too shoot wooden arrow's or touch the string to...

Actually, a longbow is merely one as tall or taller than the archer. A Warbow is what you are thinking of, and has a draw from 80lb+ to an upper limit, of, as far as I'm aware, about 250lb. I really need to get back into warbow's, but mine shatterd, and I've been concentating on accuracy than power...

Australia. Pistols have to have small mags (can't remember exact, though it was lower then 10 bullets), you have to have an adult to go hunting with any type of item, you can import swords, but not knives, you have to use your firearm of choice at least once a month, automatic weapons are illegal, p...

Gerber's suck in pricing.

O.K., this started off when I bought my friend a $20 knife about 6 months ago. I went into the same shop and saw the EXACT SAME knife (same steel same grip, same blade) except it had and ugly little G on the blade and a Gerber box, for $120. An ugly little G and a better box cost's $100 more dollars...

Longbow's take years to learn to use at all, are an unwieldy PAW weapon and have draw's fron 70 to 110 pounds.
