Re: The All Purpose AK Thread

The action is a little tight and will hang about halfway if I ride the charging handle at all, but under full let-go it rides home and had no sticking during firing. My wasr 10/63's bolt hangs halfway down as well. I found out it's the internal hammer (if that's what its called.) I don't mind since...

Re: ZS Hot or Not: Firearms edition (PICS AND LINKS ONLY)

Got my early graduation gift on a college budget.

Nagant M1895 revolver
I looked up the markings and it sounds like this one was made 1944/1945. The date on it is partially scrubbed off, but I can see a 1--4.

Re: ZS Hot or Not: Firearms edition (PICS AND LINKS ONLY)

Here's the .308 Ive always wanted, finally picked it up last week. I think ultimately it will get an A2 stock, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with it. So jealous. I've wanted one forever. To stay on topic, I recently got a Mossberg 500 as a late X-Mas present, and my first shotgun.. Came with a 7 r...

What Collapsible Fishing Pole to get

My father travels a lot for business and took his collapsible fishing pole with him to most places. A couple months ago it was stolen out of his car, so with Christmas rolling up I'd like to get him one. Problem is, I have no clue what to look for. I'd like something with decent quality that doesn't...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms rela

Just ordered a dual offset rail for my WASR-10, along with a D-Cell flashlight wall clip. Offset rail is so I can mount my Contour Roam camera on my top rail without getting in the way of the sights. Contemplating putting the red dot on the opposite side of the rail with a scout scope on top. Wall c...

Re: BP revolver acting odd

It was the pawl. Took it apart and the spring cracked off as soon as I touched it. Ordering a replacement part now. Hopefully this does it.

And thank you all for your help.

Re: BP revolver acting odd

I'm hoping it's a piece of debris stuck in there that's messing with it. This weekend I should have the time to disassemble it to find out. Here's hoping I can get it back together. Sounds more like a busted spring. Are you talking about the hammer spring? (#30 in the diagram.) I took off the grip i...

Re: ZS Hot or Not: Firearms edition (PICS AND LINKS ONLY)

Just picked this up today. It's in 'meh' condition, but I've wanted one for a while, and it will use the same stuff as the .44cal muzzle loading 'derringer' I have.

BP revolver acting odd

So I picked up a Euroarms .44 Cal Navy in meh condition today, and I noticed [after I got home, of course] that if the pistol is pointed up[or pointed up then brought to level], pulling back the hammer won't rotate the cylinder. If it's pointed down it will rotate, or if I point it down, then bring ...

I can imagine an iodine tincture solution would be pretty damn valuable once the waterworks go down, especially when collecting water in a city. Re: How do you grip your Pistol?

With my cz p07 I can grip really high and put my thumb on the decocker, like how I've seen people put their thumb on the 1911s safety. With my sig p6 though, I keep pushing the slide catch up or stop it from going up. Its irritating.

Re: EDC as a way of life.

Imo, I think relying on others in this sense isnt a good idea. Better spend that effort into insuring you are carrying your stuff and making sure a backup is nearby. In A shtf situation I don't want to have to rely on others. And from what I've gathered the sheep/sheepdog metaphor is a no-go here. F...

I just did a penetration test and not only did the Makarov's 9x18mm round not deform within a Grangier's catalog, but the .45ACP penetrated two pages less than the 9mm Para. I was not expecting that whatsoever. Try penetrating a steel can with a hammer. Then try with a nail on the end. 45 and 9mm w...

Sitting at my desk at work right now. I have a S&W 360PD and pocket knife on my person. It wasn't an experiment, but it was bad. 18th birthday at Olive Garden, had the ravioli. All was great until the very last piece. was hard as a rock. Didn't eat it, obviously, but I got a wicked case of food poisoning. It was years before I went back to an olive garden, and I got sick again. Sent fr...

Re: dumbest thing youve ever done with a firearm

I've been lucky and paranoid. My only ND was switching from my cousins Glock 22 to a rental 1911. Put my finger on the trigger before I was ready and shot a hole through the range bench. Besides that, put my thumb up while firing a Beretta 92.
