Re: Busted for open carry!

Well here it is... finally the decision is "Joe" is not a bad guy! The charges were dropped last week (or had never been filed) and I only just found out. Sorry not a lot of detail as Joe is back home and my coworker did not have details. The final disolution to this entire fiasco was that there was...

Re: video on Ruger's new SR-556 gas piston AR

I was under the impression that this rifle was a CMT/Stag lower with a Cobb upper, chromed Wilson barrel and Troy accessories with RUGER printed on the outside. If that is the case then 1500-1600 is about right isn't it? Though I heard Grundy say that it was all Ruger upper so maybe my intel was bad...

Re: Manual Safety on EDC handgun. Yes or No?

What Trebor said! You have to get a gun based on what you will practice with and shoot reliably. Training will overcome any safety non-safety issue you come up with. Most modern firearms are drop safe for the most part. My personal belief over the extra safeties on XD's and M&P's is that they are no...

Re: Rack or release?

I use the overhand rack method for the reasons mentioned plus a couple not mentioned. I have short thumbs and many slide locks require me to adjust my grip to operate. Most importantly I shoot different pistols and it is consistant between all makes of duty pistols. I train with the Glock (my duty p...

Strong side along the beltline usually OWB in a secure leather holster that is firmly held in place by a strong gunbelt. my current EDC goes between a S&W PD scandium frame 1911 with 4" barrel or Glock 19 in a GALCO concealable holster on a Galco gunbelt two spare mags in a galco mag case with a lig...

Re: Glock Magazines - What you don't know can hurt you

Very informative little article. The only problems that I have had have been related to non "GLock" mag issues I have ever encountered have been with High cap aftermarket mags. Whoever stole them out of my truck deserves what everhappens to them IMO. If you have the option when training opn concrete...

Re: Firearm training in the PNW

Comps send the hot gases back into your face. Flash hiders don't. Why the hell am I singled out for the distinguished honor of being an ammo hoarder? I haven't bought ammo since october. Exactly, the compensators redirect the gases and report towards the shooter and upwards and in an enclosed area ...

Re: Busted for open carry!

So I just talked to "Joe's" brother he informed me that "Joe" has retained a lawyer with the first two thousand dollars in defense fees. The court date has been postponed until July so we will just have to wait and see. Until then "keep it covered". Nim, once again I agree with your statments. Since...

Red dot and BUIS I got away from everything greater than 1X when I realized I really don't feel too threatened by anything past 100 yards.

Busted for open carry!

Not Me! A co-workers relative (We'll call him "Joe") was arrested for "improper handling of a firearm". I don't have the legal details just the second hand reports as told to me by a co-worker. The reason I posted here instead of in the Firearms section is that it directly affects those of us in, ne...

I promised a review on the Ken Hackathorn tacical crbine class and I 've been a little busy but here it goes finally. On arrival it was business as usual check-in, payment, questionnaire, releases etc. Those of you that have attended classes at FAS this year may be interested to hear that they got t...

It's been my experience that the people that love them are the people that own one that works! Everyone else would either never own one or have owned one already!

That's the story if you have one that works, keep it and carry it and may you never have cause to trust your life to it!

Re: For all you Taurus haters...

Did anyone else notice that first thing he did when it broke was to turn it around and point it at his face? Not the best ad for the pistol or their consumers! When customers ask why we don't stock Taurus we are fond of letting them know that the reason Taurus has a lifetime warranty and S&W doesn't...

Re: How is this not a SBR?

Mostly because like other hvve already pointed out it is built and marketed as a pistol. Design to shoot with one hand the barrel is under 16" and there is no "buttstock" designed or intended to fired from the shoulder. Much like the AR type pistols which in my opion are not good at being either a p...

I'm not a Appleseed guy but I'd have say take advantage of all the free shooting experience you can. Especially from informed knowledgeable people. If you need too, you can listen to any "rhetoric" and still learn from the instruction. And then make up your own mind on whether or not the political a...

Re: Ohh Dee Glock 36 ... updated with pics

Nice! This one of the few remaining models that Glock offers that if it were to show at the shop I would have to pick up just to have the experience of firing it in order to make informed recommendations for or against. They have merit over the other .45's in the Glock lineup but are they warranted?...

Haven't you heard if you buy one of these you will shoot yourself and your friend closest to you. Probably even sooner if you have training! Re: Firearm training in the PNW

I just got the confirmation. I scored a spot at the Ken Hackathorn tactical carbine class on May 30! I should be slightly ahead of the curve by the time the level three close quarters class comes up. There are a few more openings at the newly posted Hackathorn class in August at FAS for those that a...

I've heard that Glocks will go off if you hit them against something, like if you were thrown at a wall. Are you often thrown against a wall while carrying a rifle and a pistol as a backup? Don't want a Glock to fire? Don't pull the trigger. ^ That and I can't believe I read though that whole B.S. ...
