Re: AR15 for Home defense

I personally do not even own an AR. It's not that I have a argument against them. It's just logistics and an awareness of probable use. My self loading rifles run more to WW2 era weapons. This is what I have stocked ammo and accessories for. If I were to now purchase a AR. I would have to buy , the...

Re: AR15 for Home defense

It's important when reading "facts" like those in the article on the Prepared Gun Owners site to understand they are cherry-picked to support what the conclusion of the article will be and to carefully examine the actual data presented. For example, the pistol calibers that are talked about are bei...

Re: IWI Jericho

Good quality gun, way overbuilt and underated. It's steel but built like an HK. Trigger was sub par but better than a stock CZ. The machining is far nicer than stock CZs. It's built like a a Gucci gun and very slick , Also it reminds me of Cowboy Bebop.

Just watched "Extinction" (2015)

Not bad started at a 7/10 ended with a 6/10. It reminded me of I Am Legend and A Quiet Place but with a darker less optimistic vibe to it. The zombies were more like I Am Legend creatures but still not too bad. Been awhile since I've seen anything even decent. Zombieland 2 didn't count either. https...

I have no idea what I said 3 years ago you disagree with . I'm lucky to remember what I said three days ago  Last thing I could see I posted was "Did you hear that? Half of ZS just gasped in collective shock" But don't quote me. ( oh wait you did  ) im necro posting. Some of us like pl...

AR15 for Home defense

Honestly I like my AR15 for Home defense. Here are the main reasons: Ergonomics/Slick controls Capacity quick follow up shots accuracy fairly easy to operate one handed This applies to AKs, Scar Ls , etc etc too. 5.56 over penetration is a myth there has been studies done by LE even. http://www.prep...

Oh my... what is this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaR1EVybUgc This guy is not all stupid and wordy like a few I can think of. He has made a few good vids. 3) I stand by my original statement. Look at what is allowed or recommended for hunting. Is #4 birdshot recommended (or allowed) for hog or ...

Re: the Defensive Shotgun; How we make it work--MilCopp Blog

Interesting. All I know is a little bit I read on the internet. What did Jeff Cooper say? Use a rifle. I also thought he was an advocate for birdshot in HD This is consistent with what I've read on the internet. I'm just parroting what I've read, but I understand that Louis Awerbuck, a disciple of ...

Re: I want one of these next (Kalashnikov USA's KR103 )

I am impressed with the videos I saw. And I'm excited at the idea of a truely 100% America made AK, where every part is USA. I am cautious because of different findings with different previous American AKs. But if they got it right? Wooot!!! What, specifically, is drawing you to this rifle? Somethi...

The Bren 2 looks cool

It seems to be just a CZ SCAR clone
better than a scar and cheaper price.

Re: The Fundamentals Of Single Man CQB

How do you embed videos? Yo! Cool stuff! There is a button when you creat a thread or post, it is rectangular and labeled "YouTube". Often, in the YouTube URL, there is an "s" after the "http" and you have to delete the "s". If that doesn't fix the link and allow you to embed, I can't help you. Aft...

Be careful with any groups you try starting up, the political atmosphere has brought out a lot of crazies.

Anyhow, welcome back.
Thanks, and sadly, tis very true :(
I almost would rather have zombies as group memebers/pets (like fido) than a lot of the other humans out there lol

Good thread ,OP. Mine would be AR15- 14.5-16" barrel, free floated, red dot sight, 2 point sling and WML. Ruger 10/22 with RDS and 2 point sling 9mm pistol - no idea what one as I'm always changing preferences lol , no optics maybe extended mag. For LBE maybe a chest rig with three mags and a utilit...

Re: Hello (again) from Cascadia!

Welcome (back) , Mechphisto. I also remember ZS being pretty big although I only lurked on forums for info and didnt sign up untail a few years ago. It sucks to see this place so quiet. I also am an Oregonian but on the other side of the state on the Idaho/washington/Oregon border. Be careful with a...

Re: The All Purpose AK Thread

It's an AK... I just taped a light to mine for a little bit. I never shot it like that, but Coast LEDs are cheap and it felt solid. You gotta brace it with duct tape to keep it level. It looked gnarly and cool. I got inspiration from Left For Dead 2 hahaha Edit, taped it under the handguard didn't ...

Re: 2019 - Current Battle Rifles in 7.62x51

Ian at Forgotten Weapons has a video on those compared to the M14. It seems like the Italians (BM-59) did a much better job than the US (M-14) at what I think we can both agree are really just upgraded Garands. No argument from me on that score, but it's a very nice upgrade. One thing that should b...

After an epic 8,100 mile journey through VA-TN-MO-AR-OK-TX-NM-AZ-CO-UT-ID-MO-WY-SD-KS-IA-MO-KY-TN-VA I'm home. The mission for my trip was simple, "Go to Lewiston, Idaho and buy a house, or buy land and build one." This mission was ordered by my wife so that she can be close to her last surviving p...
