What does one typically do about light primer strikes on a rim fire? The swelling on the rim is where the chamber has been ope...

Re: Lefties and Leverguns

I have a few Marlins, two 39, three 1894 (one an S model, one a CS and one a plain old 1894), and a Winchester in 30-30. Apart from the Winchester they eject out the right side and as a leftie I've never had trouble with the case ejecting across my face. I do wear shooting glasses as you'd be stupid...

Re: Coast-2-coast

Thanks for the advice, I'm off to look up the places on the map and prepare a cover story for the wife before she gets back from work.

Wish me luck.

Coast-2-coast

Well, I finally managed to get a summer off and the wife and I have decided to visit many of our friends Stateside. So at the start of August we'll be landing in MIA, hanging around for a few days then off to New Orleans, back to Atlanta and Knoxville, heading over to SanFransisco and finally spendi...

Re: What are YOU currently lusting after? (firearms related)

Not lusting so much as dreaming they'll make one soon, the Ruger Precision Rifle in 308 with a left handed action.

I've sold several of these and shot them from both shoulders and it works from the left but not as nicely as from the right. I would love a dedicated LH action on one.
Until then...

Re: What's your effective range?

We regularly shoot practical and service rifle matches out to 500 or 600yds (at least monthly) and a few times a year we shoot 1000yds. With the .223 I can keep a Fig11 (man-sized silhouette) 80-90% of the time at 1000 depending mainly on my concentration and catching the wind correctly. It's not re...

Re: Hello

Hello and welcome o/

For a machete you can do a lot worse than the British Army GOLOK machete, heavy enough to chop through any vegetation (and zombie skulls) and solid enough to last.
Not a refined tool but dependable.
