Re: Ukraine unrest

Be careful with anything you read about that area. Nothing I have read comes even remotely close to the truth. It's all incredible lies. I have never experienced such disinformation. You wouldn't believe the truth if I told you.

Re: To everyone working tonight and tomorrow in EMS.......

I believe they mean 100 runs from midnight to 06 in the AM on New Years Eve / early morning....which is actually a shitload of EMS calls. I'd usually do about eight after midnight. That's eight intercepts with any number of BLS services.

Re: First "Stab" At Vehicle First Aid Kit

Yea, those can be wrapped up, but I didn't see, did they come with their own carrying pouch? I just used a NARP litter with a nice multicam pouch with MOLLE on the back. Unfortunately it wasn't mine so I had to give it back and anything from NARP is kind of outrageously priced. Don't count on using ...

Re: shaving hair for a head injury

I once was in a hurry and working with a new BLS crew in a new town. This is an area with one medic intercept unit. I had intercepted for a chest pain. I did some care in the house, followed the stretcher out to be loaded in, I literally ran and jumped in first. I just forgot to duck enough and knoc...

Re: Small first aid kit

Got the one of those on my belt right now. The contents are cool, Just changed them around slightly. The pouches are OK, not HSGI quality, but it works. I like those contents the most of any out there. Like I said, just changed them slightly.

Re: shaving hair for a head injury

It really depends on the history of the incident, your assessment, the size of the wound, a lot of things. Honestly, it could have been stapled (if you had it and they were like 12 or 13). Tieing the hair along with staples is done. I use a battery powered clipper with the dogs, that is KEY to carry...

Both sides lie. "Pro Russian forces" are not the only problem. The Ukrainians sling more bullshit than they do.

Re: Tactical Tailor EROP- A new BOB?

I use the Spec ops brand pack everywhere. I may also have another guy carry my pack while I carry a medical pack so custom fit isn't a reality for me. A lot of guys use them, those packs get thrown, dragged, dropped, and sat on with no problems. I've never seen a seam fail, maybe a buckle crack afte...

Of protozoa or viruses? I know that many threats are from minerals and virus particles. In Ukraine, the Luhansk Peoples Republic actually, entire towns were sick from just the mineral content, the metals from the coal mines and fallout from the unregulated factories, and viruses. I have a little Sawy...

Re: Get Home Bag

I'd like to get expensive things I guess to try them out in my BOB, but it doesn't work for two reasons. First of which is I can't really afford them right now and the Second reason is that I pack always with the premise of just dumping all my gear. Just never going back to either the hotel or area ...

Feel free to post pictures, wish I could! The blade feels great, that space between the handle and blade, choil area is perfect. I feel like I designed it and I didn't! The handle material is comfy, yet grippy just like you said and the sheath is fantastic. It's definitely going with my first line g...

Yea, the walk. How we stand, and some other mannerisms. There are no baseball hats here. And especially here, no one laughs. It's a very sad place. Not just that though. I spotted an American standing on the side of the road where there was supposed to be no Americans. Myself and a co-worker were in...

Just spent my Thanksgiving in a soviet hospital......Holy God, don't wanna do that again. IM shots in the lower lumbar area?!? There is very little muscle there! Vitamins only for chronic pain? No gloves visible in the entire joint? No showers for the patients that have been there several days? Tram...

I can't look at it as myopic. After all this work out on the edge, I don't game things anymore......Can't. I can do some "what if's" alone, in my mind but I've learned a lot from the war. The Ugandans say "tuna songa embelli", which means to always move forward. THIS is the problem, THIS is how we s...
