Re: I only have one arm in the ZPAW

No Fire mares were harmed in this scenario. The question you should ask is, why was I in a coma and why, does my dominant arm not work. :awesome: I went with the Marlin. I do think it's the easiest line up and shoot one handed and it's a semi auto. Yea, reloading is not gonna be great but there are ...

Re: I only have one arm in the ZPAW

Well you will be on a line with anywhere from 5-20 people depending on new recruits and losses from the previous battle. Oh, and no shot for the shotgun Stercutus, it's slugs only :) Are we defending from a walled position or a trenched position? If I'm the only defender on the line, 870. I'll proba...

Re: 2019 - Current Battle Rifles in 7.62x51

Ian at Forgotten Weapons has a video on those compared to the M14. It seems like the Italians (BM-59) did a much better job than the US (M-14) at what I think we can both agree are really just upgraded Garands. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=438rkWSylJo I'll just throw in here that the Italian Navy ...

Well I have no experience with either but if we are fighting the undead I will take a Kukri. The Katana is very cool but it seems to me you need a lot of hard earned skill to use.

Re: I only have one arm in the ZPAW

I went with the Marlin. I do think it's the easiest line up and shoot one handed and it's a semi auto. Yea, reloading is not gonna be great but there are options. You could, while standing use your knees to hold the rifle still, use your mouth to pull the loading tube out and then your right hand to...

I only have one arm in the ZPAW

Well, you wake up from a coma in the active ZPAW. Your primary arm isn't working and the people who rescued you from the Nursing Home are keen for you to earn your keep. They judge you as basically cannon fodder and give you these options for weapons in a front line defense role. Remember these are ...

Re: pistol caliber carbine feedback

I agree with this. Hi-points do work but there are 2 main problems with them. 1. They are a real pain to disassemble, you will need a punch and a rubber or brass mallet and a lot of force. The pin that holds them together is really tight which is good for reliability with their choice of metal but s...

Re: Ram 1500 or Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Well I am not a big fan of Chrysler products so I would say no to both, but since you seem to like them I will say a few things about the Jeep. I had a 2004 Grand Cherokee that had issues. 1. electronic gremlins-this is pretty standard 2.brakes- the rotors kept warping and needed replacing pretty fr...

Re: Crescent arms 16 Gauge SXS

Crescent Arms was a firearm company in the Northeast that made shotguns from the 1890's to 1931. They were an inexpensive shotgun mainly sold in hardware stores.Based off reading from the interwebs I would bet your shotgun has a 2 9/16" chamber, which was standard for the 16ga before 1920. Please do...

Re: EMP car?

Yeah, I have a 5 speed and never worry about it getting stolen. This really only applies in the US but almost no one here of an age that typically steals cars can drive a manual. I lock my doors because I carry a pistol in the glove compartment but if I didn't I would leave it unlocked. You also get ...

Re: 2019 - Current Battle Rifles in 7.62x51

Well if you wanted to be different you could get an Ishapore Enfield. It's an Indian made 7.62x51 Enfield they made in the 60's. I own one and its a peach the bore is pristine (they are not usually fired much due to ammo restrictions). The stock has been repaired and is a little roughed up but it's ...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

I was never very good at Chemistry, however, would the accumulated chalk residue make an excellent humidity barrier for the stored ammo? Added two more .50 cal ammo cans to my collection. The previous owner had used them to store chalk, so I get to clean the residue of that out before I stick any am...

Unknown Gun

I was walking through the local gun store today when I came across something I didn't know existed. It's to expensive for my blood, but I thought I would post it here to see what the hive mind thinks. Chinese C-96 chambered in 45 acp. https://www.gunsamerica.com/UserImages/2441/934466900/wm_3368080....

Re: EMP car?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but unless you live way out there in the wild, this is probably a waste of time. If you have a vehicle that runs and most vehicles don't run then it's going to get commandeered. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. So the local, state, federal, or ...

Re: What have you bought in the last 48 hours?(firearms related)

For an all steel revolver these are pretty light and with that short barrel it could be a nice gentleman's coat pocket gun. I mean sure it doesn't have a half cock or a safety but just load eight and you're good. They literally don't make em like this anymore. :words: I paid 300.00 for it which I co...

Bought a H&R 922 revolver in 22. It's a single/double action 22 with a 6 inch barrel and holds 9 rounds with fixed sights. It can fire 22 short, long, and long rifle. Based of the serial number it was made between 1949-1952. I shot a few 22 short rounds today and it was accurate. Pics are not mine b...

Re: How to fix a radiator with a Leatherman.

The old fashioned emergency way to plug a leak in the radiator was to take a raw egg and break it open into the radiator and then fill with water. It's a temporary fix of course but will get you home.
