Re: Pandemic Preparations Influenza & coronavirus -Updated for Ebola.

Not sure if it helps anyone... But I work in a city hospital. Hand hygiene constantly is a big key to success. I wash my hands before I touch my face/mouth, after I use a computer, before and after I enter/leave a room, or if I basically touch anything at work. Also do similar things at home. Also, ...

Both Selco and Ferfal talked about how they'd have been better off in a smaller rural town or village . Not rural all alone. The people living alone in isolated homes or cabins did very poorly and were easy prey. ... Rebecca Solnit examined how people behave in major disasters in her book " A Parad...

Problem with the Henry's are they are blued... Wish they were nitride or something tough, maybe stainless. Looks like PSA is also dropping the Jakl or something... A piston style AR AK hybrid ala Faxon ARAK, KAC pdw, Brownell AR180, and a bunch of others. I'm surprised it took this long for decent b...

There's some great stuff coming from SHOT this year. I think it was last year or the year before that was very disappointing... Basically all accessories. With the time it takes product development and engineering, of basically small companies (even big companies are small compared to other markets)...

Just gonna throw it out there that I bought this through Amazon and just watched it.

Big fan overall. Good throw backs and good jokes. Too many things are too preachy nowadays, and I think it had a really good time for modern comedy.

Worth renting for sure.

Re: Stay in city or attempt the wilderness?

I think you've made a very accurate assessment with good assumptions, except for 1 of your points. 7c. In my opinion, it does not matter what someone believes in or how someone lives their lifestyle when the SHTF. I wouldn't trust anyone to live communally in times of need the same way they do in ti...

I admit it, I'm a life-long Ruger fanboy. I have several SA & DA Ruger revolvers, including an old 3-screw .357 Blackhawk I got when I was sixteen....but I can't decide if I like this one or not. :ooh: https://i.postimg.cc/6q5DQzsJ/CH1.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/DwVBj5Cv/CH2.jpg I love it!!!! I've spent 3 Alaskan winters in my Sorel Caribous. Still look brand new. But puffy boots don't get abused too much in soft snow. Toughest? Probably my Danner Powderhorns. Good all season boots, tough as nails. Not too warm, but not too hot. Not light but not heavy. Good all around boots if I had onl...

Re: Choosing a rifle for a small frame deer hunter

Nice article, I agree with all!!

I'm happy you mentioned the 336Y. It's my go-to woods gun in Pennsylvania. But the 12" length of pull is the key for letting small shooters shoot well.

From my experience, it's all about posture/form than power for small shooters (within reason).

Lockers can be tricky but I don’t have the money for a fancy selectable. But before that happens I have to replace the heater core. Be careful with lunchbox lockers on the front axle if it's a daily driver. Some can be pretty aggressive

So basically Ruger took their American pistol and chambered it in 5.7x28mm? Looks like the 57 may be its own thing.... https://i.postimg.cc/1XhvbWHk/57-v-Amer.jpg Neat. So it looks like the rail is a bit longer on the 57 and the grip is one piece instead of the interchangeable back straps like on t...

Not necessarily ridiculous because it has some decent gear... but a lump sum of $20,000 for a full kit of zombie killin' gear
