Re: What is Your favorite Local Gun Store

My favorite is Arctic Ammo and Reloading in Wasilla, AK. I haven't been to the Wasilla Arctic Ammo... Been to the Anchorage one though. I do know they pissed off a lot of people with gouging back in the day, if it is affiliated. But, other local-ish shops are Eagle River Gun Cache and Alaska Downra...

Re: Storage box.

That's pretty sick though.

I always went with Plano totes and my brother always used roughnecks for our jeeps.

But for a metal locking container, that's slick

3 is my opinion of bare minimum for handguns

5 bare minimum for Semi-Auto rifle

Prefer at least 10 per though, and more is always better

Re: Preps for a Contested Election in November

As far as timeline goes, just got an email from corporate. I guess Alaska is allowed ballots received up to November 13 to count. So that means, at least up here, there will be an extra 10 days of waiting for official results, if it comes to that. Not sure how that will affect behavior, but it's wor...

I meant like a later civilian run, I feel like it'd be a decent seller with cheap ammo.

But I guess Mosin guys aren't high end lever guys haha

If it comes down to it, the reason for a defensive firearm is defensive action.

Pick what you're best with because you want every advantage.

Re: Sleep during Disaster/Crisis

Didn't watch the video yet... But one thing I picked up from traveling and being a nomad, when sleeping with gear, always have it strapped to you. For packs and bags, I always look the straps around my feet or arms, etc. Makes it tougher for the snatch and grab when you're nodding off. When I was in...

Re: Pandemic Apocalypse: To The Lake (Netflix)

Binged this, it’s REALLY good. I might watch it again just because it was interesting and not overly “make believe” and the team didn’t go full TWD which is nice. I finished it shortly after my first post. I agree about TWD and sadly it's what I compare most apocalypse genre media to. Basically, ar...

But if you do decide to secretly plant stuff, here's a running list of stuff I would like as a kid that could be used: -novelty gem stones in a jar. Fools gold or quartz or any of those souvenir rocks -old silverware or cup -old handtools -definitely jars of change -cheap pocket knives if he's old e...

I think tins would be fun too. Then you could put a bunch of stuff in them. I would honestly make a treasure map with clues for him. Vague pictures and stuff. Think "red dead redemption 1 gold bar treasure map". Or maybe stuff like geocaching. Depending on his age, he might figure out stuff is plant...

I'd be curious as to what setting you got your views on them? SNF? During clinical rotations in Burn care. But honestly I’m just kidding, Wound vacs definitely have their place in recovery. Happily I’m a caveman paramedic so I don’t have to worry about placing them. Ahhhh I can see that in burn car...

Re: No, really honey, last one...I promise: Aereus Lev

I hear the receiver/stock one piece combo from the WWSD rifle is supposed to be pretty light considering it eliminates multiple components.

Not sure if you added it in as weight to compare to your build, seems like a good budget way to go

Unpopular opinion: Wound vac/drains are for Docs that are too lazy to do daily dressing changes. Just kidding, they have their place but can be overused by busy services. As always, just my opinion. I generally disagree. I can see how they can be over used, but in the acute setting, they are very n...

Pandemic Apocalypse: To The Lake (Netflix)

Russian series on Netflix, dubbed and subtitles. To The Lake, currently 1 season. Story about some dysfunctional Moscow city folk trying to escape to the wilderness during a violent viral outbreak. Pretty darn good. It's dark and gritty. The characters are "real" as in generally smart but flawed. I ...
