Re: New Rifle; Tikka T3x

If I make it back to the US this year, I'll probably pick up a (7.5lb) T3X CTR.

I'll replace the stock with a KGR X-Ray, so could give you the stock if you pick up the (6.6lb) T3X Lite.

Re: Help me set up my Howa .300 Win Mag

There were a couple people there who had something that at first glance seemed gimmicky but actually seemed to work pretty well for them. They had armbands above their biceps with fastex buckles, and a fastex buckle on their sling. Everything was pre-adjusted to the appropriate length. They could q...

Re: rethinking bug out vehicle given protesters blocking tra

Admittedly I'd expect to be able to reverse course on a bike, but this is what I fear:

Re: rethinking bug out vehicle given protesters blocking tra

For me its more like review/improve movement plans, not vehicle type. ... If you get caught in a 'FLASH' protest, depending on your vehicle you will have to think on your feet so to say. If you recognize your options in a protest depend on your vehicle type, why wouldn't you review/improve your veh...

rethinking bug out vehicle given protesters blocking traffic

I'd previously thought of a bug out vehicle without much consideration as to deliberate traffic blocking, but now occurs to me that would be awfully vulnerable on motorcycle or in soft-top if such a protest turns to riot. And foreign luxury more likely be targeted than down-market domestic? Anyone e...

Nice, Dio.

Really looking forward to hearing how it shoots and compares to your previous rifle and friend's.

Re: the Defensive Shotgun; How we make it work--MilCopp Blog

One of my personal favorites is “you just need to rack the shotgun and criminals will run”. This is utter nonsense. In my first shooting, the two carjackers I was up against both told investigators individually in interviews that they heard me rack my Remington 870 as I exited my car. The effect it...

My CX4 is at 6lbs and 28" (unsuppressed).

How much does the 9mm from a 16" barrel gives up to the 5.56 from 7.5"?

Re: caliber to complement .223?

Eh, decided to hold off on another rifle/caliber for now. Partly because pretty convinced I want the rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor and I'll have to wait for Tikka or Sako to offer the caliber, partly because range finders, wind meters, and ballistic apps are getting better/less expensive quickly, and mostl...

Re: caliber to complement .223?

Good news. A limited run of Tikka T3X CTRs will be available in 6.5 Creedmoor. http://tikkaperformance.us3.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=d40a4c03393dffe9658d62e33&id=f4c67c0d48&e=02baf3c114 Would still consider a discounted T3 Sporter in .260, but can now hope the T3X Sporter or Varmint will be mad...

Re: caliber to complement .223?

And here's another suggestion for you........you want to get " good " at the requisite skills necessary to distance shooting? The go find yourself some avid Varminters and start hanging out and shooting with them , you evidently already possess rifles in .223 that are perfectly suitable for the tas...

I'd like to compare 1000 yard drop (100 or 200 yard zero), drift (10mph), and energy for: .223 (77gr) 24" barrel .243 (95gr) 22" barrel .260 (140gr) 24" barrel .308 (155 and 178gr) 24" barrel .308 (155 and 178gr) 26" barrel 7mmRM (162gr) 26" barrel Hard to do. Re: caliber to complement .223?

I've been reading about how capable the 75/77gr .223 can be to 1000 yards and so have dismissed the .308 from consideration as not being sufficiently complementary. I've also been thinking about shooting steel and/or without a defined backstop at ELR, and how with the 6/6.5mm calibers you may not he...

Re: caliber to complement .223?

The reason I suggest you buy a Kestrel is so you can start to calibrate what the wind ‘feels like’ as you are out at the long range shooting match. It’s easy to stand on a ridge overlooking targets and say, “Man the wind is really whipping,” but without a Kestrel it’s very difficult for a beginner ...

Yeah, that is nice.

Thought about going with the Compact and SC, but the single-stack Nano is slim enough I could pocket carry if wanted. Thought that more important than shared magazines.
