Re: Prepper armor

There is a lot of motorcycle gear that seems like it would fit the bill nicely if you're going for light weight and mobility. Items like this come to mind: http://www.btosports.com/p/Fly-Racing-Barricade-Body-Armor?gclid=Cj0KEQiAiuOlBRCU-8D6idaPz_UBEiQAzTagNGCGg2wxFr_WQ92NNRVMYudkuRv4DudNRzjPyz_nk48...

Yeah Magpul has been killing it this year. Just saw the news on the Glock mags this morning over on their facebook page, looks like they'll be getting a lot of my money in the next few months.

When I'm doing the Army thing I carry: Wallet with around $100 and all the usual stuff. iPhone 5. (Hate how big the 6 is) Gerber Auto with a clip point. (Old school made in Merica kind) Dog tags. Keys with Leatherman micro. Rite in the rain notebook. Two rite in the rain pens. Qalo wedding band. Whe...

What'd you guys think of the Magpul AK Furniture? They managed to not make it look like they were trying to turn it into a AR-15. I'm actually really interested in this product my self. Looking forward to some reviews, price point seems a little high (For the AK world) but the whole buy once cry on...

Re: Great info on "The Poodle killer"

To date the biggest hinderances to 5.56 are user confidence and bullet design. 855 is pretty crappy, 855A1 is better (more accurate over distance) and Mk318 moreso. I'd like to see more surplus 318. And user ability. I've seen dudes talk shit about many different weapon systems when the truth was t...

Honestly once I get my own land I plan on doing the exact same thing. The best one I was able to find used a dryer motor, but keep in mind at the time I was looking into low cost power options. A used dryer was very cheap to obtain, when I was looking into the the bulk of the cost would have been fr...

That's what I was thinking, if the mount didn't break the rails would. And either way I wouldn't be running around trying to get shot in the gun that is right by my face.

The child in me wants to see some video tests...

Re: Great info on "The Poodle killer"

If one is going to tackle an issue as controversial as this one then he really should have more sources and citations to back up his position. This. Honestly I've used 5.56 extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I don't have any problems with the round. If you know what your doing it will kill an...

And they all suck. I hate that system as a whole. Really wish we would have just updated the Alice packs. Edit to add: I use a Maxpedition Pygmy Falcon II as my assault pack. It works great holds the same amount of gear as an issued assault pack and organizes it way better. Matter of fact it's on my...

Yup, I just use some gun oil and steel wool. It's gives them a nice shine and then a coat of CLP keeps them from spotting.

Re: How can you relieve tension in battle

Very true. You do not rise to the occasion, you sink to the level of your training. This is very very true. After my first fire fight when I saw all the training I thought was boring bullshit paid off I stopped bitching about doing react to contact and battle Drill 1A over and over again after havi...

Awesome to get the backstory on the two blades that actually lead me to contacting Storm Crow for my own custom work. Mightor and Little Rok look like an awesome pair, and just the other night I was thinking about piggyback options. Beautiful, tough working knives...love it. You'll have to keep us ...

A pair o blades!

I want to start off by saying my whole life I have always wanted a truly custom set of blades for what have you. Well as time has gone on and I've gotten older my tastes have changed but I've also started making a good pay check where I could afford to fulfill this dream. Well for the last two years...

Honestly I think at this point they are still to new for me to even consider owning one. How ever I will say I'm a big fan of fabing my own stuff using metal and I think a 3d printer would be awesome with some very limitless applications. But at this point as I said I'm still in watch and wait mode.

Just watching a lot of different videos of combat etc., and interested in how the different things that go through the mind during it. Ok I gotcha. Honestly it is hard to say and really depends on the fire fight, I've had all kinds of odd things go through my mind in a fight. Once when I was in Ira...

Re: The Mosin Nagant- The LAST Great Deal In SHTF Firearms

This was the second gun I ever owned. I traded and old beat up Maxpedition shoulder bag for it to a buddy. I've always had a big soft spot in my heart for these weapons. When I got back from my first tour in Iraq I was able to pick up a crate of 20 for around $1000 they came with all the bells and w...

Good SA is the biggest thing honestly. When I fly solo I always travel as light as possible and keep a pen in my pocket where I would other wise have my knife so that the draw will be about the same.
