Re: Buying New AK

I have a Romanian AK (it's not a WASR) that i picked up 2 years ago for $250 and it has never once failed me. It's ugly but accurate and reliable. I also have a Yugo underfolder which took some breaking in but it's built much better. My Draco AK pistol shoots well too. I picked up a MAK90 for $425 a...

Re: Rock Island 1911s?

Eric, I had an officers model and it worked "ok". I had two malfunctions in my first round of test firing. After that it was fine. I ended up trading it away but would consider another down the road.

I say go for it.

Re: PREP FAILURE: THE WALL OF SHAME

I bought a generator, candles, propane grill, all kinds of gear in preparation for TEOTWAWKI. When a Hurricane came rolling thru Ohio 18 months ago i thought i was more than prepared. I had the genny, i had plenty of food, etc. After the power went out, i went out to start the genny and realized i f...

Re: Mini-14 Tactical

The mini 14 is a decent rifle and can still be found at gunshows for $300-$500 used. Yes you can get an AK cheaper, and for a bit more get an AR, but the mini wasn't made to be tacticool. It was designed with hunting AND military service in mind and is used in law enforcement, corrections, and some ...

Re: The Biggest ZS Loser- The Challenge!

So, the secret to losing weight is eat more bacon? lol, it's about finding the right balance. To few calories and your body will react with an undesired result. A pound of fat is 3500 calories. Ideally you should create a 500-1000 calorie deficit daily to lose 1-2 pounds per week (i am sure you kno...

Re: The Biggest ZS Loser- The Challenge!

Just turned 28 yesterday, and I was really hoping to be down to 120, but I'm still hovering at 130. I'm still eating 1000 calories, and walking or gardening frequently, but those last 10 pounds are really stuck. I should be losing 1-1.5 pounds a week at this rate. I guess I should exercise more, bu...

Some Rugers run right around $300. They might be worth a look.

Re: Defend your house in a riot like this...

I believe this did happen in LA back in 92. Korean shopkeepers stood outside and shot at people trying to burn down their shops. LA Riots It's hard to imagine a riot happening where i live, but if it did and they were specifically targeting my house while i was inside i would shoot to protect myself...

Re: Zustava PAP AK47 question

Why did you pick that make/model of AK variant? Honestly it was a really good price. I already have several other AKs and thought this one was unique. My plan is to put a detachable bipod on the front and make this more of a benchreast gun. I know it won't be as good as some, but it'll do what i ha...

Zustava PAP AK47 question

Hey all,

I picked up a Serbian Zustava PAP AK47 for a really good price. I want to put a quadrail on it - preferably a UTG quadrail but i am not sure which would fit it. Anybody out there have experience with the Zustavas and know which UTG rail would fit best?

Thanks in advance.

I picked this one up on a whim and have to say i hated it. One of the worst zombie novels I've read. That's just my opinion. Others may love it.

Re: Ruger SR9c?

Thanks ChrisW - that was VERY helpful. I have to get one now. I need another compact carry gun. So far i have been please enough with my SR9 that i bought a second one. It won't replace my Glock as my nightstand gun or even for competition, but it's a solid gun for home defense and reasonably priced...

Re: Firearm Insurance

I called the insurance company i get my homeowners insurance from. They will cover a couple thousand dollars automatically i believe and if I have a specific firearm I want more on they have rates for that too. It is basically a balloon payment i guess. It's fairly affordable but i would only get it...

Ruger SR9c?

Hey all,

Does anybody have any experience with Ruger's new SR9c? I have a SR9 and I like it, but the SR9c looks like it could make a nice, much more practical carry piece. I am looking for any feedback you might have.

Thanks,

Re: Home made pet food

grain is much cheaper than meat I believe that is the correct answer. Dogs can and will gladly eat raw meat. I believe they have a natural inclination to do so. In fact many breeders will feed their dogs raw meat when they are having allergic reactions to their current diet. If the OP is looking to...
